yj2cute Posted January 22, 2014 #230 Share Posted January 22, 2014 Yeah two weeks is about how long it takes. Some of the other great reviewers here like Mikey and Wrigley take just as much time. Picture reviews are time consuming but indeed, they are a labor of love! BTW Jamman I'm subscribed to your Splendor review. I've started reading it in preparation for my Splendor cruise! :D And GAPearl. :)

Leo's Rule Posted January 22, 2014 Author #232 Share Posted January 22, 2014 Please accept my apology. I fell asleep while posting pictures last night. :o If my hotspot cooperates today, I will post the remaining photos during my lunch break today. I have to look at my photos from the sea days to write about the things I did on those days. So that part of the review will more than likely happen tomorrow. MsMot Posted January 22, 2014 #233 Share Posted January 22, 2014 I decided to type some before I headed out for the night. I'll respond to some of your posts Saturday night. Dominican Republic Prior to the cruise I booked the Saona excursion with Seavis. I wasn't exactly sure if I'd make this tour' date=' especially after being quarantined! I had to see the ship's Dr that morning to get clearance for any activities. I felt better, as in I was no longer throwing up, but it did hurt to walk. My excursion required me to get off the ship as soon as it arrived in port (9 am) and that is the same time I went to see the Dr. By the time he finished everything it was 9:30 a.m. He told me to avoid a bunch of sun and to drink plenty of fluids. I assumed I had missed my tour, but didn't know for sure. When I attempted to disembark I felt like a thief because the bells and whistles sounded :D but a quick call to the Dr. allowed me my disembarking privileges for the remainder of the cruise. Let me just say that [b']I absolutely hate the port of La Romana! [/b]My tour had already departed and since the taxis at the pier had to be used, I kept trying to find the taxi stand for Taxi Casa de Campo. I located them, but trying to talk to someone was hard. I guess I'm too polite; I give people an opportunity to complete their transactions and then others jump in. There was no order; just complete chaos! I'd had enough and butt in on someone and ask about the ride that goes to Bayahibe (that's where the group was to be taken) and I'm told to follow a cab driver. To make a long story short, I asked the cab driver if she could call the tour company for me and she said yes, but never made the call. I asked again and she acted like she was calling someone, but never put the phone to her ear. I then asked was she taking me to Bayahibe and she said yes, but I felt she was lying. And even if she wasn't, I didn't know if the people from Seavis were still there since she never made the call!!! I decided to go back to the ship; it was hot and I was tired from standing. It still hurt to walk and being on my feet for long periods was wreaking havoc on my back. (What in the world was wrong with me? It hurt to walk and stand for long periods). I go to guest services to see if a portion of my cruise could be reimbursed. My mom couldn't believe I had the nerve to ask; she was embarrassed. I was told a manager would need to address that with me and I'd receive a call in my cabin. I said ok and walked away, but I do believe the guy was laughing on the inside; he did have a smile on his face; it was like he was thinking, "yeah, right; reimburse you for sickness?" Since the ship was practically empty, mom and I wen to the serenity deck and I crashed in one of the chairs. (The only thing I was able to get a picture of DR) (Mom posing before getting back on the ship) (Me...dozing off, but I caught my mom sneaking a picture) Dominican Republic will be continued I totally agree! If La Romana ever shows up on my itinerary, I will stay on the ship.

southpaw_1979 Posted January 22, 2014 #236 Share Posted January 22, 2014 I'm still interested in what made you sick. Did the guys that you were supposed to meet in South Beach drug you? (date rape drug possibly, which would explain why they wanted you to go out with them so badly)
cruisinsly Posted January 23, 2014 #237 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Awesome review! Soo sorry you did not feel well. I cant believe all the negativity on here. I am a mom, and because of that - reading about vomit doesn't bother me. My stomach has become stronger. You episode did not make me ill or anything. Just keep on with your great review and awesome pictures and ignore the rest!
LRene Posted January 23, 2014 #238 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Leo's Rule - I 100% agree with you about La Romana. We've been there twice and it's the biggest mess I've ever seen. Never again will we get off the ship. In fact, we found the same taxi company you mentioned, waiting in the hot sun in line for 30 min., got into a taxi only to have them sit us in a hot van while they tried to find the exact number of passengers needed to fill it to capacity. We had 8 people and told him we'd pay for the seats if he'd just go. About 20 minutes of that stifling heat, we got out and went back to the ship. I never heard one nice thing from anyone on tours there. It's probably a beautiful island but Carnival and the port authority has made it such a cluster, we'll never do it again. Great review. Can't wait for the end. My vote is also gallbladder!
Leo's Rule Posted January 23, 2014 Author #239 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Sitting at my computer. Didn't have the opportunity to connect at work; I ended up spending a portion of my lunch break finding cost effective options for a training I have to travel to. (Our budget has been cut, so I can't fly and I refuse to drive my car). Anyhow, here's the rest of the pictures from Aruba. I will daydream at work tomorrow and write more of the review. Ssh; don't tell anyone. The other side of the sign; we were leaving the Natural Bridge It doesn't look cold out, but it was. A replica of the original homes. Sonny said his wife makes him sleep here when he flirts with women. Aruban money. This is where I want to stay when I go back to Aruba The nasty Kit Kat
Leo's Rule Posted January 23, 2014 Author #240 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Look at my body! If only my waist was that small!!! Mom had to take a photo with a bike too. And it's her favorite color This is what I made the walk for. I had to have a picture. You can't steal my bus! LOL About to board the ship; it's time to eat. The fries were awesome. The burger; ummmm, it was ok. It wasn't everything that people made it out to be, but my mom did enjoy the burger.

Leo's Rule Posted January 23, 2014 Author #244 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Mario, Anita, and Luigi Fred, Anita, and Wilma They were jellyfish, but someone thought they were something else. I'm sure you can guess what that something else is. He was supposed to be Jerome from the Martin Show, but I don't think he was Jerome. I just think he was an old school ****; though that's what Jerome's character was. She was bold AF. I couldn't have done it. I wonder if the Entertainment Crew saw her; I just knew she'd be on the stage in the contest, but she wasn't. She scared the %$&* out of me. I was actually scared to stand near her. I was so scared that I smiled. LOL
Leo's Rule Posted January 23, 2014 Author #245 Share Posted January 23, 2014 I have no clue who he was Me and 1/4 of the Waldos; I believe there were 20 of them in total. They were my fellow Roll Call/M&G crew. Me and Mila. She was happy to see me doing better. One of the crew. I thought she was dressed as Kelly Osborne and I kept calling her Kelly to get her attention and she was puzzled because she knew she didn't know me. Long story short, people used to call her Kelly growing up. Chewy and I I want to suck your blood.
Leo's Rule Posted January 23, 2014 Author #246 Share Posted January 23, 2014 OMG...I just read his coat; Dr. Howie Feltersnatch. LOL I ran into him because someone read my badge (I lost the real one and had to write it) and thought I was with Dr. SpreadEmWide, so I was in search of him so we could take a photo together. Dr. Howie had one too many. His wife was taking our photo, but she couldn't get my camera to cooperate, but he didn't mind. :p Arrest me officer; I've been a bad nurse. LOL Righteous! Groovy!!! I know he was hot in that...I was hot just from him hugging me. Was that thing made of wool? The naughty wolf. I thought I had a picture of him and his girlfriend/wife. She was a sailor. Leo's Rule Posted January 23, 2014 Author #247 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Who you're gonna call? Ghostbusters! She was dressed as a real character. I don't recall the name, but I thought she was a modern day Rainbow Brite or perhaps Punky Brewster. I think he was half man, half zombie. His wife wouldn't come out; she got cold feet. Leo's Rule Posted January 23, 2014 Author #250 Share Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) I wasn't ready for this. I saw his photos on the ship and so wanted to snap a picture, but thought I'd get in trouble. He had various poses. I don't even want to imagine if he flew to Miami. Where was that wedding dress stored? This was the guy with the dirty diaper. The audience wasn't ready for him. He walked down the aisles and stopped in front of people to pick up something he supposedly dropped. He even attempted to sit in peoples laps. My handsome nurse, Sergio!
