scubacruizdude Posted January 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2014 I'm at the rear side of the ship. Is that good? balcony included- any benefits?
crystalspin Posted January 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) If you are really at the "rear" (aka aft), actually looking BACKWARD over the wake (the churned up water behind the ship) you have a coveted location and balcony. You will be able to see most of both sides of whatever view there is. Also you will be able to use your balcony when the ship is underway without a stiff breeze that other locations have. The only bad things might be slightly more up and down motion when the ship "pitches" -- more than midships, but not as much as the forward cabins. And there has been some talk on I think it is the Princess board about soot falling on the aft balconies, on some ships. If you are along side of the ship and not actually LOOKING out the back, that is to say, a standard balcony cabin that happens to be farther aft than midships, you will have a nice stateroom with some possibility of up-down motion (as above). What line and what ship? Oh yeah -- welcome to Cruise Critic! Edited January 11, 2014 by crystalspin
cb at sea Posted January 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2014 I think being aft is better than being forward....but unless you have a "true aft" cabin, there's no real pro or con to your location. The further from the central stairs and elevators your are, the more time you waste walking those extremely long halls!
