I'd like to know the answer to this as well. My guess is that it goes into the same pool as the DSC and divided up as NCL sees fit. That is why if we have an exceptional bartender, or we would like some exceptional service ;), we tip in cash to that person.

 

I doubt it goes into the DSC pool because bartenders and bar waiters don't participate in the DSC pool. It may very well go into a separate bar staff pool, however.

I completely get that, however I hate carrying cash/wallet around. I try to only carry my cruise card, if possible.
