We are going on a cruise out of Miami in July. We would like to stay in Orlando after the cruise for awhile. What are the options for transportation from Miami to Orlando?
Would a one-way car rental work for you? You would have the car for your stay in Orlando.

We have done this many times and we always rent a car one way or two if you have to get back to Miami after to get home. Its about a 3 1/2 -4 hr drive depending on the day and traffic. This is an easy drive on the toll roads. The Sunpass tolls cost about 20$ between Miami and Orlando and there are plenty off gas stations and toll plaza's. The food is expensive at the plaza's but that's normal on a toll-road. So you may want to eat before or after you get on.

I posted on another thread but we are renting a car from Hertz from Tampa to the Port(Miami) and picking up another car after the cruise on the way home also from hertz going back to tampa with a stop on the way to Disney world:)

P.S When we stay in Orlando we always book at a hotel that offers free parking and no resort fees. Some of those fees can get to be 30$ and higher for parking/hotel/fees;)

$20 for tolls one way? That seems really high.

The toll road saves you time and hassle compared to I-95 -- if you want to spend an extra hour plus and drive farther on 95 then you can save the toll $$
