maryr65 Posted July 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2005 Does anyone know of a nice hotel that our family can use as a "day hotel" til our flight later in the afternoon. It would be better than sitting in the airport with the kids. Thanks
TrentS Posted July 19, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2005 This question has been asked several times before and I don't believe anyone has ever come up with any hotels that offer day rooms. Your best bet would probably be to rent a car when you get off of the ship and go to the beach, a mall, etc... The airport and Car Rental Center are adjacent to Port Everglades making it very quick and easy to get a rental car.

scottie99 Posted July 22, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2005 I have used the Hilton at the airport for day room accomodation before returning to the UK. Is is nice enough and has a large pool area. They have a shuttle to take you to the terminal.
98Charlie Posted July 22, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2005 We stayed at the Marriott Marina on a day rate in May. We could not reserve a day rate prior to cruise, however. We called the hotel from the ship while we waited to disembark and asked if they had a day room available. Room was about $75 as I recall. We did have to arrange our own transportation to the hotel and from hotel to airport - taxi cost was minimal. There is a Waterbus stop right there at the hotel where you can hop on a water taxi and tour FLL via canal. We had time to get some rest in our room and still have a fun tour via water taxi. TrentS Posted August 22, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2005 It's okay, but it's old and nothing special. The location is nice, across the street from the beach. The rooms have great views. It's about 15 minutes from the port. Sorry, but you have to be careful with Priceline, if you bid Fort Lauderdale Beach I'd only bid 4-star resort, the 3-stars on the beach aren't all that great, especially not for that much money.
