Best month weather wise to cruise the Med

I've been looking to do a Mediterranean cruise for a few years now.

I know they are very port intensive but good weather is a key factor

For us. Looking to go out of Barcelona or Venice.

Is there a better month to cruise here with calmer seas, less rain, better chance of sunshine?

Have done this cruise 4 times always in Sep. or Oct. Less crowded and more comfortable weather. As far as rough seas they can happen any time. Only once were we unable to dock at intended port because of high winds but went to a different one. Good luck with your choice!:):):)

Went on the Norwegian Jade from Venice for a 14 nighter in the Med in late May/early June in 2012 and the weather was absolutely perfect. Never saw a cloud the whole trip and the sea was flat as a tack.

July and August are the best times for sunshine, if you want as much of it and as hot as possible. You wouldn't be able to spend long sitting in the sun at those times of years, though. If you want it a bit cooler, so you can stand in it for 5 minutes without sticking to the floor, you need later in the year (or earlier, but I'd recommend October because it's been good for me.)

 

Wikipedia has climate averages for most cities. Look on there.

My research told me it may rain more in October than September so we picked this coming September. June has even less, but I won't be retired yet :)!

August and September are very hot and very crowded.

I don't mind hot but could prob do without sticky/ humid! It does making walking distances in ports draining.
