Premier Cruise: Priority Check-in/Embarkation?

Just a quick question for those that have been on the Player's Club Premier cruises...I though this included Priority check in and boarding but there's nothing on my cruise documents (booking summary and boarding pass) that indicates priority.

Should there be?

I was on a Halloween Players Club cruise from Galveston. When we got through security they had a rep at the top of the escalator directing the casino cruisers to a special check in area, then they were seated in a separate waiting area.

I'm Diamond so I went to the regular VIP lounge to check in and wait.

They actually boarded the Casino Club cruisers before the VIP cruisers which I didn't think was right.

I'm in the same situation. It doesn't even mention anywhere on my documents that I'm even booked with Premier Cruise let alone the perks and information associated with the cruise...should it?

Evidently per caribnsnrklr our docs don't need to say it and that someone will be waiting with our names. I'll take along my flyer just in case.

Thanks caribnsnrklr and okgirl. BTW, I do agree with you that the Premier guests shouldn't have gone ahead of diamond/Suite guests. But as priorty boarding is offered as a perk, should have been boarded at the same time.

Yes bring your invite. When I called and booked this the girl that did it had no idea what my offers were just that it would be booked premiere. She stated I had to call another department. I too got concerned that I wasn't booked under premiere when i saw my documents and lack of info from other agent. When I finally did get ahold of someone in the casino department they looked and said yes it was booked properly and confirmed the perks stated in the invite. She is the one that also told me to get into the VIP line and my name would be on the list and to bring my invite just in case.

As long as you are sure you are booked under the correct code (mine was PC3), then your name and everyone in the cabin with you will be on the list for priority boarding.

The perks were great, it was probably the best cruise I had ever been on.

I got the offer under my past guest number, but my sister got to share all the perks too.

We each got $250 casino cash

In the cabin we got 2 bottles of water, the red Players Club lanyards for free drinks in the casino, 2 cocktail parties with hot appetizers, a dozen large cookies from the bakery, 2 really nice Players Club beach towels, Chocolate covered strawberries.

It seemed like every day there was something new in the cabin.

We also got free entry into a special slot tournament. I made it into the finals and got $60 for 8th place. I think the winner got $500 and it went down from there.

Cool! Thanks for the info. My offer didn't include any cash but the cabin is comp'd (in a 4J). So am happy with that although am hoping they will make a mistake and have some cash too. WTH, it all goes back in their pocket anyway! :D

I'll never understand Carnival's system for free cabins and comps. They never offered me a free cabin but I get $750 in cash at the cage. Wonder how they choose who gets the free cabins and who gets the cash.

On this week's Galveston premier cruise they also had a separate VIP check-in area for the premier cruisers. But they had already pulled the Platinum/Diamond S&S cards from the regular VIP lounge so I checked in at the premier cruise desk. I asked whether they were boarding premier cruisers or Platinum/Diamond first, and the answer was premier cruisers. I didn't think was right either but stayed in the premier waiting area in order to board earlier.

Were you able to go right to your room or not? I'm traveling solo and it's really a pain to drag around the rollaboard till room is ready.

I was, but as a Platinum, not a premier guest. The rep checking people in at the premier desk was telling everyone (even Platinums and Diamonds) that rooms would be ready at 1:30 (the normal time for all guests). I knew better in my case but didn't say anything.

In any event, there seemed to be many more Platinums and Diamonds onboard than a normal non-premier cruise. Between these additional folks and the people who buy FTTF, I can't see them being able to have rooms ready for *all* the premier guests when boarding starts.

So glad to hear that you loved the premiere cruise. I was worried that I made a bad choice. I was originally on my Alaska trip in may when they offered this premiere cruise for June so I switched. It was much more expensive than my original but the perks sounded good and June worked better for my in-laws that are traveling with us . I do have a question about the welcome aboard cocktail party. Was that on the first night because we were thinking of booking the steakhouse on that night. Thanks. Melody

I don't understand it either. I've never received a comped cabin, just some casino cash usually. I made over 5000 points on that Halloween cruise and just called for my comps on my upcoming Sunshine cruise. I'm getting $50 and the On Us card.

I think the On Us card is pretty standard for anyone that accumulates more than 5000 points. I spent probably $1000 of my money in the casino that cruise.

The cocktail party was on embarkation day around 5:30. So just make your reservation later in the evening.

I've never received a cabin comp on Carnival either (always get comped on NCL). At least my offers have gotten better lately. They offered me $750 cash and 60% off fun select fares on the Premier sailing or 30% off and $600 on a regular cruise. Maybe it's because I cruised with Carnival 3 times in 9 months and then they didn't hear from me in over 6 months. MUCH better than my $200 at the cage on my last cruise!

I haven't been on a Premier Cruise and have heard great things so figured I'd give it a shot.

I received a "comp" interior cabin for 2 people and for me, the FREE cruise still ended up costing me a total of approx $600.00:D.

The reason I say this is because for just 1 person, my cost for the style I cruise is:

Flight = $350.00

Transfers = $60.00

Pre-Cruise hotel = $75.00

Upgrade to a balcony since I smoke = $100.00

Tips & Grat = $100.00

We receive $300.00 in casino comps, so that helped a bit.

If my DH goes, then it is 2x this amount.....

I LOVE the Premier Casino Cruises and they DO treat you well.;)

However, the comped rooms can turn in to a bit of a nightmare sometimes and may not really be worth it.

Just my 2 cents:D

Premier is the ONLY way to cruise. Here's hoping the drink service is better on the Pride than it was on the Splendor.

Last few times on the Pride we tipped big on Day 1 and never waited again.

Two former hosts on the Pride sent me birthday emails yesterday. Very nice people.

That's good to hear. Hopefully the drink service is good on the Conquest. :) I also like the fact the welcome reception is at 5:30pm. Gives some time to get settled away but doesn't interrupt my dinner plans. Are the receptions well organized and what's included?

Thanks

BetMax,

My BFF is on the Splendor right now and said the service in the casino is a MILLION times better than when we were on it. She said that the casino has a whole new crew and the Casino Hostess (Anna), we loved her, has moved on to another ship. We were surprised since Anna told my BFF that she would be on the Splendor Jan 20th sailing...hmmmmm, not sure what happened with that...

Anywho, she said there are almost DOUBLE the amount of waitstaff in the casino and there is not wait at all getting her PC Drinks with her card. She said she did not notice as many PC cruisers as there were on our cruise either. I was amazed.... glad they took notice after the horrid service we had in Sept on her:D

While you're not getting a totally comp'd cabin, the deal you are being offered (60% off and 750 cash) is still better than my offer. I'm comp'd for an interior room and 0 cash. When I booked, got a 4J and the going rate would have been 709 per person. So doing the math, yours is the better offer.

Lol that's debatable! If you did the math on the money I've lost in the last couple of cruises you would more than likely say you have the better offer. I'm not complaining and am very grateful of the offers I've received on this cruise but it's impossible to compare who has the better offers without knowing the stats.

I'm not worried about others offers, as long as I'm happy with mine. :)

Maybe Anna will be on The Pride for my PC cruise. She was nice. Glad they did something about the drink service.
