ok, looking at the printed out luggage tags, it tells me, that you can bring on ONE bottle of wine or champagne per adult per voyage, which will not be subject to a corkage fee if consumed in the stateroom.

:confused::mad:

what?

we have always taken that *free* bottle with us to the dining room. so are they going to stop us at the door & check our account & then charge us a $15 fee? even if we bring it in opened? (I don't like the way most waiters open the bottles anyway.)

Not at the door, but yes they can charge you at the table when you consume it.

We have been charged in the specialty restaurant when opening/decanting a Cabernet but not in the MDR for icing/serving champagne (so far).

You answered your own question in your question..."which will not be subject to a corkage fee if consumed in the stateroom." Thus stated, if you consume the bottle in a public area, be ready to have a corkage charge added to your on-board account....even if you take it opened. If you take additional bottles of wine on-board, there will be a small label or a stamp placed on each bottle indicating that bottle has been charged to your account, the 'free' one is not stamped, so can be charged.

Am a bit curious about your comment that you don't like the way most waiters open the bottle...is it the type of corkscrew or what?
