How to verify OBC amount?

We just booked a cruise via a TA and were promised a certain OBC amount.

How do I verify that amount by looking at the booking online?

I looked through all the sections I could and did not see anything related to payment or OBC

So far we only paid the deposit but have not made the final pmt yet

If it comes from an onboard booking (from Royal Caribbean) you can see it on a booking invoice, but generally with TA's, you only have the paper trail between you and them. It will generally show up on the second or third day of the cruise. Bring your documentation of the OBC on the cruise with you in case it does not show up.

It should be on your invoice - my TA always has it spelled out. For example, on my current invoice:

Fare Break-down for the full Itinerary:

# Fare Type Item Description Unit Price Qty Extended

1. Cruise Cruise Rate $XXXX 2 $XXXX

2. Cruise Port Charges $225.00 2 $450.00

3. Cruise Government Fees $114.25 2 $228.50

4. Cruise Complimentary Gratuities 2

Insurance Insurance Declined

INVOICE TOTAL $XXXX

Total Payments Received

$500.00

Total $500.00

Final Payment due by Jul 22, 2014 $XXXXX

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

$XXX onboard credit

I stress as well....take your documentation from your TA regarding the On Board Credit. Our's did not show up at all, so about 2 days into the cruise, I went to Guest Services...they had no record of it.

Good thing I had the paper from the travel agent, with her company name, address, phone number, my and my cabinmate's name, and amount of OBC. They actually took another day to phone her and verify the amount. I don't know what else went on, but we finally got it.

I'm sure without that documentation, we wouldn't have received it. It's not good enough just to show a number on an invoice....ask your travel agent for full information about the OBC with as much detail as possible. Especially include your travel agents contact information and name and company.

:D

I'm cruising with a group in October to New England/Canada. Our group is small so we are using a t/a. I prefer dealing directly with RCI.

It took the agent we did have......3 days to email me my invoice. I called the Office Manager today, and asked why it took so long.

Sure enough...my OBC is not on my invoice.

I sent an email this afternoon to the new agent handling our group...and of course she hasn't gotten back to me.

She had nothing but excuses when she called me earlier today about sending me my invoice.

OBC from a TA will not show up on the Guest Copy of a Confirmation Invoice from RCI.

Any OBC from RCI will appear on the Confirmation Invoice under On Board Credits - Currencies right above the Cancellation Schedule.
