Island tour on a Sunday? What should we be sure to see?

We'll be in St Thomas on a Sunday in March on the Emerald Princess from 7:00am - 5:00pm, docked at Crown Bay. There will be two other ships docked there that day, Jewel of the Seas and Seabourn Pride. It will be our 2nd day in St Thomas, on the 1st we are heading to Trunk Bay in St John.

Godfrey's Sunday tour requires 3 hours of shopping beforehand (which I hate), so that is definitely out. I know the Princess tours are not a good value, too crowded, etc.

Ideally we'd like to get off the ship early, see the sites for a few hours and then head to Lindbergh (aka Emerald) Beach. Is there any tour company in St Thomas that offers strictly an Island Tour (no shopping or beach) on a Sunday morning? I can't find one. :(

If we were to hire a taxi driver to take us on a tour, which sites should we be sure to see? It seems like most of them involve seeing the views.....

When you get off the ship, tell the taxi dispatcher what you want. Most island tours include shopping, beach time, Mountain Top or other overlook photo op. If you want to see Coral World, you'd have to ask for that. Yes, most island tours showcase the views. Is there something specific you want to see?

Thanks. Actually I'm asking what we should see, as we've never been there. :o

Most visitors want to see beaches and go shopping, so that is what the taxis are set up for. Many want to take pretty pictures of the ocean. :) Have you read through here to see what others have done on their day? Paradise Point, Mountain Top, Coral World come to mind. There are historical tours, but I'm not sure about on Sunday.

Here's my list of interesting things to see....

1. Trunk Bay

2. Magen’s Bay - $4pp $20 chair ($8 taxi)

3. Mountain top – souvenirs and drinks

4. Black Beards - $10 pp and kids under 12 free for the full tour open 9-2

5. Magic Ice - $22 per adult, $12 per child

6. Paradise Point Tram - 9am -7pm. Adults - $21, children (ages 6-12) - $10.50, 5 and under - free

We haven't been there yet but this is what my research has brought up.
