Mwright91 Posted February 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESl89ReTK2c Not sure if this is a re-post or not but I found this video on Reddit. Found it very interesting to watch. Came in as the Norwegian Crown, left as a completely different ship!

Demonyte Posted February 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2014 The video is new one (it was also published as a video "news" article by Finland's biggest newspaper last week) but even they didn't do their background checks properly as the event actually happened already over six years ago in 2007. Cool video nevertheless. :)
Daisyduke70 Posted February 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2014 That is really cool - thanks for sharing. I had no idea they did that kind of thing!
coold8 Posted February 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2014 You know I was thinking about going into the ship splitting business but the barriers to entry seem a little high. Oh well, on to my oil drilling business in the gulf.
shelly11 Posted February 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2014 That's amazing! I didn't know they did that either!
Barb Nahoumi Posted February 3, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 3, 2014 Wasn't it the Balmoral which followed the route of the Titanic, in April of 2012? Of course, it finished its cruise safely.
biker@sea Posted February 3, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 3, 2014 If my memory is right this was the last ship stretched by NCL. M/S Norwegian Dreamward and M/S Norwegian Windward were stretched previously.

Beaver1975 Posted February 3, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) If my memory is right this was the last ship stretched by NCL.M/S Norwegian Dreamward and M/S Norwegian Windward were stretched previously. Correct. This happened in the late 90's (97 or 98). I believe their stretches occurred while everything was floating at the LLoyd Werft yards. Barb Nahoumi Posted February 3, 2014 #13 Share Posted February 3, 2014 The Majesty was also cut and stretched.
negc Posted February 3, 2014 #14 Share Posted February 3, 2014 I don't know if they started it, but Royal Caribbean's Song of Norway and Nordic Prince were stretched in the 70's and Enchantment of the Seas was stretched more recently. It is a fascinating process.
Mwright91 Posted February 4, 2014 Author #15 Share Posted February 4, 2014 I wished the video showed more of the actual connecting of the ship... like the inside with all the parts.
