  1. I got the chocolate room service cake on Pride Of America (we were in a suite) in February. It smelled so, so good . . . but tasting it was a bit disappointing.
  2. Agree that I hate the smoke - I always figure out alternate ways to get to other venues. I was never going to sail on Breakaway class because friends said the smoke infiltrated all venues open to the atrium. On the other hand, if LOTS of people are in the casino (which I totally avoid), then that means more space per person in the rest of the ship.
  3. I'm guessing because some venues might be more popular?? If you have FAS meal you can go once with that and once with the "coupons"
  4. We are sailing in a suite with a private hot tub on the Prima in January. I sincerely hope that we can make as much use of the hot tub as we would like . . .
  5. I have never seen a safe on any NCL ship that required anything other than a code keyed into a pad. Not sure on the room lights. I was on the Pearl in 2016 and don't believe I needed a card then, but I am sure there has been at least one dry dock since then.
  6. Free at Sea - first, look at the cost of the gratuities on the Unlimited Drink Package (and on the Plus version of the drink package). We decided that we didn't drink enough to be worth paying the gratuities. I have sailed on many NCL ships, but not Escape. However, I do know that one of the main dining rooms is open for breakfast most mornings (not sure if closed on port days? or ??). Also O'Sheehan's serves breakfast. Teppanyaki is my only "must do" and I might not even do it on my next cruise because I am sailing solo. I LOVE the fried rice and main course, but don't want to sit through the "show" again. You can google and find dining room menus. They are basically the same on every ship and include some items that don't change and some items that are different each day. I believe there are 10 menus they can rotate through but that might have changed. I have always been able to find some main course I liked even though there have been a few times that I chose from the "classic entrees" that are there each time - grilled strip steak and shrimp fettucini alfredo are my go to's there. Desserts is another issue - I'm not a fan of most of the main dining room desserts. On some cruises I would leave the dining room before dessert and go have a crepe from the buffet or walnut carrot cake from O'Sheehans.
  7. I just added unlimited internet this morning, paid and got the normal updated invoice via email.
  8. I never dress up. I will wear nice jeans and a top when going to dinner most of the time.
  9. I copied that this morning from the Lattitudes benefits table in "my account"
  10. We did have to ask for the vouchers. Looking at our latitudes benefits:
  11. Our last sailing was in February so less than three months ago. We were in a Haven suite - 4 of us and three of us were platinum. We still only got TWO of the meal certificates. We did get three free bags of laundry.
  12. As stated above NCL excursions you don't need to worry about tender times. If you are taking a non-NCL excursion, in the past (pre-covid) I was able to get priority tender tickets for myself and friends who were not able to get priority tickets. I just told them how many people and since I was eligible they gave me the tickets.
  13. On POA in February we were in a suite and were unable to book Teppanyaki until we were on board. Not sure if that is POA specific or because it is a smaller ship?
  14. Absolutely. I declined the FAS drink package on each of my cruises. There is a point close to payment that has the options over to the left and I just unchecked the unlimited drink package.
  15. The shrimp scampi is my favorite item on the lunch menu. I don't remember seeing scallops, need to look again.
  16. It is a specialty on the Prima - BBQ
  17. I just watched a you tube video where the creator said he found out at a Q&A on board that: 1) the casino will be enclosed, so no longer open to the atrium area 2) a venue will be changed to the Q restaurant (can't remember which venue as I didn't care 🙂 )
  18. I did see that I have to bring PRINTED receipt. Not sure how much luggage I will have . . . I am Platinum so have one free laundry, but will be bringing laptop & cpap. If I have just backpack and carry-on suitcase I might not drop them off . . . but just remembered - snorkel & fins . . .
  19. Thanks - Canceled other reservation and booked the same one you did. 🙂
  20. I did some google search and found this https://go.lazparking.com/search-results/100-Poydras-St-New-Orleans-LA-70130-USA I'm wondering if the top link is a legitimate one?? It has two options "Reserve Ahead (Taylor Swift . . . " $320 OR 7 day pass for $250
  21. I just booked a cruise today for late October. The recommended lot is booked full. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
  22. I watched a youtube video of someone who was able to connect HDMI to the tv in their Prima stateroom and use it as a second monitor. They did have to use buttons on the TV instead of the remote to change the input to HDMI. I'm trying to find someone who can look at the tv in the smallest bedroom (with the bathroom across the hall) to see if 1) there is a way to connect HDMI and 2) does that tv swivel or is it fixed? Thanks!!
  23. From the ncl website reading the description for category BT (solo balcony) "These spacious staterooms include a queen-size bed, sitting area and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto a private balcony. Staterooms are priced exclusively for solo travelers and include access to the private Studio Lounge."
  24. I have booked a solo balcony on Prima and have been told that the solo lounge access is included!
