scotpom Posted February 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Are vistors/friends allowed on board at a cruise stop? If so how do we go by arranging it? Scotpom

shedridt Posted February 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2014 ....but we arranged for a friend to join us at a port & go on a shore excursion we arranged for the 3 of us. So our friend, who was booked into a hotel in the port, was able to go on two shore excursions with us although he was not allowed to board the ship. It would have been so nice to have our friend join us for lunch or dinner on board but that is no longer allowed, for security reasons. It's sadly understandable..... kathy9 Posted February 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2014 We met some one who had family members come on board the ship in Hamburg during our British Open Cruise July 2013. He said he had to contact AZ and they had to have all the names etc and he had to pay a fee for them to eat at the buffet. I would contact the AZ main office and inquire about it. Never hurts to ask! shedridt Posted February 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2014 It's good to know that there might be some flexibility in all of this! It would have been so nice to have our friend come on board for lunch!
norn iron Posted February 9, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2014 Last November onboard Journey, we had a two night stop in Dubai. The first night was unscheduled as we arrived 12 hours early, so no pre planning to invite guests on board could have been done. However fellow Norn Iron cruisers whom we met on the cruise had sought and been given permission to bring friends onboard. The party of four dined in Discoveries restaurant. I subsequently heard the Dubai residents more than enjoyed the Azamara wines!!
