congrats on the upgrade to RS..... we are booked in the RS on Splendour and can't find any info :(.... would love to know more about it....

Hi,

we were upgraded to the RS on Splendour 2 years ago. The stateroom is breathtaking regarding to size.

The balcony is rather small for a RS, it gets pretty narrow towards the front of the ship. It is still big enough, although a bit overloaded with all the loungers, chairs etc. Nice thing about the balcony: You could almost shake hands with the captain when he stands on the outside bridge and we actually had a few chats.

Big downside of the Splendour RS: Since it is right below the Windjammer, it can get really loud in the morning and the late evening when they clean it up. You also hear people walking (especially when they wear high heels). This might disturb some people big time. If it gets to much at night though you can call guest services so they tell the crew to keep it down a notch (an apology from the concierge next day is included ;-) )

Also, the furniture and doors were quite tired in the stateroom, but we did not mind that. Maybe they renewed some of it by now.

We felt that we got much more recognition being in the RS than for example on Liberty in a GS. As soon as people saw that we are from the RS, they went every extra mile for anything we asked for, even though we did not expect it from them. For example, we got the best table in the dining room on the upper deck overseeing the whole lower dining room deck and it was made clear, that we could have this table every night (and we were on MyTime Dining!).

Oh, and btw., we too would have been escorted by the concierge but passed on that.

Enjoy, you will have a great time!
