eusrmb Posted February 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Cruising Fjords end of May. Does anyone know how cold it is at that time of year in Norway? What type of coat, sweaters, etc, are necessary? How to pack? We will be leaving 90 degree temps at home. Thank you. :)
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Since the search feature isn't working -- have you asked this question on your cruise line board? Also on your Roll Call? Have you checked out Norway on the Ports of Call board?
Rare LHT28 Posted February 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2014 It depends on how far north you are going in Norway but we took a fleece jacket with a rain jacket as well, a hat & mitts were also welcome Layers are the key Some days the sun was out it was not warm but still good enough to see the sights this was in June You can check visitnorway.com Check http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=192 Enjoy Lyn
nmg85 Posted February 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2014 We sailed last year at the end of May and the weather was lovely for all but 2 of the days. Take layers so you have options but be prepared for warm weather also Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
Dayenu Posted February 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Right before the trip, look for 10day forecast on weather.com Also Accuweather website has 14days forecast. We were in May - layers are best, tshirt, sweater, light jacket. On our photos we wear sweaters and tshirts.
Granny DI Posted February 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2014 We lived in Stavanger, Norway for several years. The most important item of clothing is a rain jacket. A good Helly Hansen will keep you warm and dry. A HH rain jacket was the first purchase I made in Norway. Weather could be cool and rainy or warm and dry. It probably will not be cold and dry or very warm and rainy. Norway is beautiful...wished we still lived there.

5326jan Posted February 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) We are on Holland America. :). (just learning how to navigate cruise critic) Welcome to cruise critic! :) Have you joined your roll call yet? Go to Holland America in the roll call section, then look for the date your cruise begins. You'll meet some people and maybe opt for some private tours arranged by veteran cruisers. boulders Posted February 17, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2014 My new favourite weather website is weatherspark.com. It shows not only the highs and lows throughout the year, but also cloud cover and probability of precipitation amongst other data.
