Taxi from Sleep Inn to port

Any suggestions to a taxi company that has vans to fit a party of 5 and an idea of the price for the trip from Sleep Inn Dania Beach to Port Everglades. Thanks!

We had 4 people that needed to go to the port from Dania Beach, and I called the taxi company the night before and reserved a minivan taxi. I believe it was around $25 for the trip. We used Yellow Cab: 954-777-7777.

The front desk at the hotel can usually call you a cab. Just tell them that you need a van taxi.

When I was there last April there was a Free Shuttle to the port being offered from the Hotel.

We had free shuttle the last time we stayed there, but understand there is now a charge. Anyone know about cab fare from there to port for only 2 people??????

As someone mentioned earlier, cab was $25. Cab fare is based on length of ride, not number of people.

Suggest you call the hotel to see if they still offer free shuttle to port.

We stayed there this past February and the hotel charged $5 per person for the shuttle.

 

I think a taxi is the same price regardless of the number of people.

With all the construction and volume of vehicles going to the port, a taxi can end up being very expensive.

We have stayed at The Sleep Inn in Dania around 5-6 times in the last 8years and they have been charging for the shuttle for quite some time. Reservations are first come first serve. They have 2 runs. We have found the taxi a few dollars more but worth the $ to allow your departure when you want. A word of caution about taxis in the area. While most are reputable there has been an increase of gypsy cabs that also "call" themselves Yellow Cab. They do not have the rate sheet posted. Be sure you ask the fare before you get in. We lost a cell phone in a "yellow cab" that wasn't affiliated with the company and was unable to retrieve it even though we noticed it as soon as we left the taxi.
