midnightdoug Posted February 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Hi I am looking for a helpful tip for first time cruising. In April 2014 I am going on a five day cruise to Mexico on Carnival line. I am going to have a inside cabin to my self. I have paid for the cruise and tips in full. I am a writer and I will be writing the last two chapter in by book. I am not planning any shore or port tours. Who do I tell ahead of time that I do not want to be disturb for the full five days? That I do not need my cabin clean or the bed sheets clean or turn down each night.Would I tell customer service or the cabin steward ? Or maybe both ?(for meals I have open sitting or I might used room service) Thank you all
Rare 1025cruise Posted February 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2014 You should go to customer service and ask to speak to the housekeeping supervisor. It is the steward's job to do what you are requesting they do not, and they can get in trouble for not doing so, so you want to make sure that your request is documented. Krazy Kruizers Posted February 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Welcome to Cruise Critic. I strongly suggest that you leave your cabin for meals. Tell you cabin steward what you will be going to breakfast and dinner each day and then he/she can quickly come in and do his duty. When we get on a ship we tell our cabin steward that we will be gone for breakfast at 8 AM and the stewards start at 8 AM and by the time we get back from breakfast everything is cleaned. We also tell them that we have dinner at 5:30 and again by the time we are done, room is ready for the night.
