eurolady Posted February 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Okay....I have tried to find a recent post somewhere on this subject and I have called Princess 5 times. No one there (may be I am just getting the wrong person each time) in Customer Service and their Corp. Casino # (just goes to voice mail) has been able to give me a definitive answer. I am thinking about buying some casino vouchers. How do they work? Can I just turn them in for cash at the casino? I am travelling to South America and almost every private tour operator wants to be paid in cash USD. I would really like to avoid travelling with a lot $. Much appreciated. Timbles Posted February 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2014 The vouchers are in your stateroom upon arrival. You take them to the cashiers cage once it opens and can cash them all at once or one at a time at your leisure.
CATGUY7 Posted February 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2014 It is very handy. We ordered them in 100 dollar denominations, and cashed them when we needed them. No problems whatsoever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Av8tor Posted February 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2014 It works well as the above posters have stated. Just call Princess and tell the rep you want to pre-purchase casino vouchers for your cruise. The best thing about it is it shows as a purchase on your credit card, not a cash advance, so you do NOT get charged any extra fees and you'll also get points/miles if your card plan has such a feature! riclop Posted February 19, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2014 To save you some time just cash them and leave the $$$ there because they will get it sooner or later.

WOW, who know, not me:o So you just call Princess and pay for the casino vouchers over the phone with your credit card? What dollar denominations can you get (can you get them in less that $100)? And just so I understand , I just go to the casino and they give you cash for them (you don't have to use the cash in the casino?) and there are no fees to cash them? This would be a great way to have cash for tips, etc. and not have to bring so much with you while traveling!!

Just take the money and run. :D

You do not have to use the cash in the casino, no fees. And yes, this is a great way to have cash available on the ship for tips without carrying it on. CountryCruiser Posted February 20, 2014 #17 Share Posted February 20, 2014 Can I assume the vouchers you receive in your cabin are just like cash? If you lose them, they are gone and can't be replaced? So whether you cash them on first day and carry cash all week or keep them and only cash them periodically, it would be the same risk. Timbles Posted February 20, 2014 #18 Share Posted February 20, 2014 We just kept our uncashed vouchers in our room safe.... Not much risk.
CATGUY7 Posted February 20, 2014 #19 Share Posted February 20, 2014 We kept our vouchers in our safe also. We only cashed them when we needed them - made them a little harder to spend... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
