  1. Wait another day and then download a copy of your Travel Summary from the Princess site. It should show everything correctly. If it doesn't then you have a problem. Most likely it will have the correct info. (The Travel Summary should actually show the updated info before the app even catches up.)
  2. Other than our first cruise I have always booked myself. I used to transfer the cruise to our TA at the time of final payment. He got a commission and I got a break on the price. I never had an issue booking directly. Now that Princess has changed things I have to transfer to him within 60 days. (Stupid rule.) We have 3 cruises booked at the moment. Two are with our TA and he has gone above and beyond watching and checking and has scored us great price drops and additional OBC. The third cruise we have booked (actually the first one to sail) I haven't transferred to him yet but will do so. I've made partial payment online using Princess Gift Cards I bought at a discount through AARP and will buy a couple more and make payment with those and then transfer the cruise to him. (Once it's transferred I can no longer just go to the Princess site an make payments - I have to have the TA do it instead. I just want to make another payment before transferring to save him the pain of calling Princess.)
  3. Guess I'll have to look to make sure my dining arrangements for our 3 cruises booked next year haven't suddenly vanished. It's good that they are listing the type of dining for each venue. I had to just check what was offered for each and then take the one that fit what I wanted. It wasn't difficult but would definitely been a better experience with the dining type clearly listed. Edit: Just checked. Love the new, clear listing of the dining type for each venue. Reservations for all 3 cruises are still exactly as I originally made them. How nice to have an update that doesn't seem to have broken anything but, then again, I haven't had that many issues with the app other than when it was first released.
  4. I checked our Hawaii cruise next March. The price is about $410 more so gaining $400 OBC isn't a real compelling reason to rebook. Poop.
  5. When we did the Mezcal tasting they offered a "bite" of something with each type. My wife and I were the only ones to try the roasted crickets. 😁
  6. I like whiskey and whisky. In my time I've partaken of multiple types and price points. There have been inexpensive whiskey brands that I found quite drinkable. There have been other inexpensive brands I found horrid. Most of the expensive ones I've had were purchased by my son or a friend - both of whom had far more "extra" income than I had. I like some fairly spendy stuff but my own purchases are more plebeian. I tend to vary my intake between Scotch, Irish, Bourbon, and Rye. It's rare for me to put it on ice.
  7. I can't answer about snorkeling gear. No idea as I don't do that. There was a buffet and a number of small tables where we could sit to eat. There were chairs on the beach as well. We wanted to check out the Mezcal tasting and the wine tasting but, after doing the Mezcal tasting they told us we couldn't do both. Poop. My wife had a ball in the water and I had a good time watching her and enjoying my beach chair and drinks. I rarely get in the water other than to wade a bit and have never used a pool onboard but my wife uses the pools and loves the water. We had a great day that seemed to be over faster than it should. We found ourselves asking where the time went. We would have stayed longer if we could.
  8. Scotch and Soda. A sad pollution. I can't imagine putting soda in any good Scotch. Perhaps that's a way to make Dewar's White Label or Johnny Walker Red drinkable. I understand that many don't care for Whiskey (or Whisky for that matter) - my wife detests it. Whether it's an inexpensive blended whiskey or an 18 year old Single Malt to her it all "just tastes nasty". She's never tried something like Talisker or Lagavulin. I think that she would not only say those don't taste like the ones she has tried but would say they are "not just nasty but horrible". Definitely an acquired taste. Irish Whiskey is quite mild in comparison to most Scotch. Note: For those who wonder why my spelling varies above the word "Whiskey" (using the "ey" ending) denotes Irish and American spirits. The word "Whisky" (omitting the "e") denotes spirits from other places such as Scotland, Canada, and Japan.
  9. That notice listed California. We have sailed multiple times from LA and from SF and have never been charged for drinks before reaching international waters.
  10. This cabin is listed as being capable of booking for 4 people. There is not only a bed using the sofa but also an upper berth that pulls down from the ceiling. Either one will make it difficult to use the balcony door when they are deployed. The steward can put them back out of the way during the day.
  11. I booked the cruise first. Then I went to the Payments section and gift cards were an option.
  12. All of the listed drinks sound like great ways to ruin Irish Whiskey. Why would one do such a thing? If the whiskey is any good at all it should stand on it's own and be enjoyed for its own sake. Okay, Irish Coffee is acceptable so that frozen coffee drink might not be such a terrible thing to do but the others... Really???
  13. It's also possible that the bartender wanted to be sure she wasn't getting the "extra" drinks for friends who didn't have a package.
  14. You missed Tenders becoming Water Shuttles. 🙄
  15. One cause of such possible confusion is the fact that they introduce the most traveled guests at the regular Captain's Circle "party".
  16. Ours lasted about 40 - 45 days or so before we had to get replacements. My wife's replacement worked great. Mine didn't seem much better (at all) than the one I turned in. (When we asked for replacements my wife's Medallion was pretty much a total fail. Mine was a bit "will it work this time or will it fail this time". I was never certain that they actually gave me a replacement.
  17. We did 63 days in a row on Grand Princess last year. During the cruise(s) both of our Medallions died and we had to have them replaced. We ended up with ONE medallion at the end. They definitely don't give you multiple medallions. Note: We stick our old medallions on the refrigerator door. (Ohhhh.. How origina!! NOT!!!) However, we seem to be missing some. I "blame" our yougest grandchild who is here quite often. She's almost 6. She plays with the magnets on the refrigerator door. (This is as compared to our oldest grandchild recently turned 28. (OMG!!! This can't be happening! Sigh, our oldest child turns 50 in early November. How? How?? HOW???!!!)
  18. My wife doesn't have a passport book. She does have a tee shirt with every US National Park listed with a blank box next to the name. She marks them off with a marker. Her shirt has gotten a number of "wowie zowie" comments but... Back when there were only 50 US National Parks (yes, the number keeps growing) we were at the park headquarters in America Samoa when we saw a couple getting their picture taken with a park ranger. They had visited -at that time- all 50 US National Parks including the two in far northern Alaska. I asked how they got to those two and they said they had chartered a small plane. (Actually, the only way to get to those two. I'm guessing we won't mark those off of my wife's list.)
  19. We had hoped to use that stop to visit Acadia National Park (my wife "collects" US National Parks) but it sounds as if that won't be possible in the future. It's a long drive from California... Edit: Of course I wanted a "real" lobster dinner as well.
  20. If you like Wordle try Quordle
  21. Ahhh.... I love hearing about newlyweds. 😁 I'll be watching this as we have never been to the Med and it sounds like a great place to visit. Looking forward to your "honeymoon" adventures! At one time I would have thought 34 years was an incredible amount of time but that was long ago. (Our son turns 50 in a few months.) See? You aren't really old after all!😉 Hope you have a fantastic cruise and congratulations on your anniversary.
  22. There was another big one just the other day. This time there was a fatality. ☹️
  23. Sad. Very sad. Reminds me of arranging for a car for Hawaii for us and our son who is permantly in a wheelchair. We booked it months in advance to be sure we would have a car that would work for him. I took the shuttle from the port and, when I got there, I found an angry mob of people who had pre-arranged for cars only to find that there were none available. The staff had blithely rented them to other people who had arrived by plane that morning. It took almost 3 hours to get another car. I was hoping to hear better news about FLL. We have a few cruises booked next year and one of them ends at that port. We would like to maybe rent a car for a few days and pick up another couple of National Parks that we haven't been to. (My wife collects US National Parks and there are a couple in that area we haven't visited yet.) Perhaps Budget might not be the best choice... 🤔
  24. That drives me nuts as well. I can't understand how they could have failed to notice that the thing sounds so off key. Like you, I've never been a fan of the horn. (Of course my wife and I are also not fans of the show. It was fine when I was a kid and didn't know any better. The behavior of Doc is especially cringe worthy.)
