how to casino vouchers work? Used for not carrying large sums of cash to ship?

Okay....I have tried to find a recent post somewhere on this subject and I have called Princess 5 times. No one there (may be I am just getting the wrong person each time) in Customer Service and their Corp. Casino # (just goes to voice mail) has been able to give me a definitive answer. I am thinking about buying some casino vouchers. How do they work? Can I just turn them in for cash at the casino? I am travelling to South America and almost every private tour operator wants to be paid in cash USD. I would really like to avoid travelling with a lot $. Much appreciated.

It works well as the above posters have stated. Just call Princess and tell the rep you want to pre-purchase casino vouchers for your cruise. The best thing about it is it shows as a purchase on your credit card, not a cash advance, so you do NOT get charged any extra fees and you'll also get points/miles if your card plan has such a feature!

WOW, who know, not me:o So you just call Princess and pay for the casino vouchers over the phone with your credit card? What dollar denominations can you get (can you get them in less that $100)? And just so I understand , I just go to the casino and they give you cash for them (you don't have to use the cash in the casino?) and there are no fees to cash them? This would be a great way to have cash for tips, etc. and not have to bring so much with you while traveling!!

You can't really use cash in the casino so... Just take the money and run. :D

Exactly! Denominations are $25, $50, and $100. You do not have to use the cash in the casino, no fees. And yes, this is a great way to have cash available on the ship for tips without carrying it on.
