Charles4515 Posted February 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2014 Has anyone booked this tour through Celebrity? (or RCCL) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! My feedback is to avoid most cruise line tours in Bermuda. And Hamiltion in particular you can easily do on you own.
iheartbda Posted February 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2014 HeatherC340, Out of curiosity, could you provide the descrition of the tour? I have a feeling that I will still agree with Charles.
HeatherC430 Posted February 21, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted February 21, 2014 No problem. Here's the description: I realize everyone seems to say it's "easy" to do on your own - but I'm not finding clear information anywhere on any specifics on the details of doing such on your own. Having the search function not working doesn't help! :) Hamilton Shopping & Sightseeing (BKG2) - $60 If shopping, history, or sightseeing is what you are after, this cruise has it all! Board your private sightseeing vessel to Hamilton City. The boat will dock right on Front Street in Hamilton, where you will have 2 hours for shopping or visiting the historical sites of the city. Non-shoppers may choose to stay on board the vessel for a ride to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. You will receive discounted admission (extra cost payable at the venue), and have one hour to tour the facility, before your boat returns to Front Street to collect the shoppers for the scenic cruise back to your ship. Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes

Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes Very easy to do on your own: (1) Take the ferry to Hamilton (2) Shop, walk around, etc. (3) Walk or take a taxi to BUEI (It's a healthy walk on Front St. or a short taxi ride) (4) Walk or a take a taxi back to the ferry terminal (5) Take the ferry back to Dockyard. Doing this on your own should be cheaper than the excursion, plus you have the flexibility to spend as little or as much time as you want. There's almost never a reason to take a cruise line tour in Bermuda. Virtually everywhere you'll want to visit can be reached by public bus or ferry, or a taxi.
