Booking Excursions and Paying

For our next RCCL we will have $600 OBC :eek::eek:

...and the gratuities are already pre-paid :eek:

 

Since you have to pre-pay for excursions when booking online has anyone found a way to (1) Book online but (2) eventually pay with OBC?

I was thinking, buy excursions online then cancel them on board and then re-book but I am sure that won't work since they would most likely give the refund in form of OBC

 

Our other option is to just wait and book excursions on board and hope that the one we want is not full.

 

Any suggestions?

 

$600 OBC is a lot of 2 adults and 1 toddler :)

We do plan on utilizing Royal Tots nursery a lot so OBC will go towards that. Other than that, we are not big drinkers...We do play Bingo, buy photos, gifts, etc...onboard.

How much of the OBC is refundable or non refundable. Typically all OBC issued by RCI is non refundable wherevOBC issued by TA is refundable. .

 

FYI you can get cash for any non refundable OBC simply by withdrawing cash from your SeasAsk card at the casino. Of course you will be charged a fee of 5% for this privilege but in your case if it was all non refundable you cold take it all out and get $570 in cash an only be out $30. Losing the $30 sucks but is better than pending it on stuff you do not want or need.

Not really familiar with refundable vs non-refundable OBC. I thought it was all the same :)

 

$250 is from TA

$150 is from RCCL

$200 is from RCCL Visa Rewards so I guess its also from RCCL

The $250 from TA is refundable

Pretty sure that the Visa rewards $200 is refundable

 

The $150 from RCI is non refundable.

the non refundable should get used up first so if you plan on using a bit of it for the nursery then you should get everything else back to your credit card at the end of the cruise. Lucky you.:)

 

Stop by guest services a couple of days prior to the end of the cruise to make sure hat you won't have any non refundable left and if you do then use it up or else withdraw it at the casino.
