bobbidi Posted February 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Boarding the ship today...so excited! Is there a quiet out of the way spot to lie out in the sun and read a book? D-I-L doesn't need a pool, just moments of quiet... Son would like to know the best place outside to have a cigar, too?
Rare 1025cruise Posted February 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2014 I could be mistaken, but I believe there is a cigar lounge on the Royal.

dmwnc1959 Posted February 23, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Cigar smoking is ONLY allowed in Churchills. Agree, quiet sitting areas aft on Deck 7, access the Promenade Deck on either side just prior to entering the Vista Lounge. One side is always shaded. Get the loungers all the way back at the stern. Wonderful views. Alfredo's is a GREAT place for Embarkation Day lunch. Have a Brownie Blast Sundae with Nutella gelato at the Gelato shop in the Piazza. Try the Chili and Lime Crab Margarita at the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar. Have a GREAT cruise! Come back and tell us all about it!!! :D :D :D
NewPennCruiser Posted February 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Dave beat me to it, but yeah, the aft Promenade Deck areas on either side will be perfect for what you're looking for. The starboard side toward the back allows smoking and given the current itinerary that side will be in the sun heading to St Maarten, then the port side on the return trip. We wanted quiet time in the shade so we just picked the appropriate side and it was a fantastic place to lounge, read, relax and do whatever you want away from the many other activities going on around the ship.
