luv2gamble Posted February 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Hi All, I live on long Island and was thinking about taking train to penn then a cab to port. Is this is best way? Any suggestions?
njhorseman Posted February 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) It's as good a way as any. There are alternatives...drive and park at the pier or a nearby garage...or take a car service. What's best is strictly your preference...what's best for me is my preference. Rare Got2Cruise Posted February 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2014 Take the LIRR to Penn and then a cab from Penn to the Pier. The cab stand in front of Madison Square Garden exit is the easiest way to get a cab. If you go off-peak it won't be as crowded or expensive. I wouldn't recommend going peak. Call your local car service or Dial 7 to compare cost of a car service to the pier. It is much more relaxing.

kayhil3 Posted February 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2014 I also live in Suffolk county on Long Island and have done the train to Penn and a cab to the ship twice with no problems at all. When you get off the train look for the elevator much easier then the escalator with your luggage. Have a great time.
