Yanis Posted March 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Our itinerary specifies arrival in Rome Civitavecchia at 5am. At what time do we need to leave the ship? Can we still have breakfast in the ship this morning?
spookwife Posted March 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2014 yes. the ship will have limited breakfast options.. probably just the MDR and/or Buffet. ( no room service) and the hours will be earlier than usual. they want you out of the cabin ASAP and off the ship right after that.
justcrusn Posted March 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2014 and civitavecchia is a strange place to disembark. we LITERALLY walked off the ship and left last year. NO immigration, NO customs, NO body there. My DW was very dissapointed we did not get a passport stamp!

NO immigration, NO customs, NO body there. My DW was very dissapointed we did not get a passport stamp! God bless Italy and the Italians. A different world. I once returned a rental car at Marco Polo and had the same experience, just leave the car in the lot and turn in the keys. Not a soul around. Now, in Germany two agents escorted me back to the car, popped the trunk, and actually checked under the spare tire to ensure the jack was still in place. Apparently the word was out that I stole jacks for a living:rolleyes:
helen haywood Posted March 1, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2014 So, everybody will be asked to leave before 9? I'm trying to schedule a pick up.
mcdermott Posted March 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2014 If this cruises starts in Barcelona or another port things will be as normal the day you disembark.Should you require to stay on board longer you can pay extra and stay until 3.30pm.We did this last August on the Equinox
helen haywood Posted March 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2014 I am on a repositioning cruise that starts in Miami. I don't want to stay all morning on the ship but neither do I want to be the first one off. What would be a good time to arrange pick-up? I had said 9:30 but if the ship is going to ask us to leave earlier then I'll change that.
rhlaw Posted March 1, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) We will be disembarking in Southampton, England in September. Our ship docks at 6:00am, does anyone know what time will we be able to get off the ship? Our taxis pickup is telling us a 6:30 pickup, I don't think that the ship will let us get off that soon. Can anyone tell me what is a good time to tell them, we want to be off the ship as soon as possible to do a tour before our plane leaves. So what hours do you reckon breakfast will be? Will it be very noisy when they dock at 5am, or can we expect to sleep a couple of more hours? We are travelling on the Equinox starting from Istanbul. Suprisingly if you self disembark you HAVE to be off by 7am so you will be fine if you can manage your own luggage. If not, the earliest slot for those with baggage will be 7-7.15. If you dont want to self disembark and they give you a later slot go to reception and ask for an earlier slot. On our Reflection cruise out and back to Civitavecchia in Oct 2013, the Celebrity Today for Disembarkation day listed the following for Breakfast Service: Opus: 6:30am to 8am Blu: 6:60am to 8am Oceanview Cafe: 6am to 8:30am AquaSpa Cafe: 6:30am to 8am Celebrity Today Disembarkation - Nov 1.pdf

What about noise, does anyone know how noisy it gets? I am hoping that we can sleep until, say, 6.30, even though we dock at 5, then get ready, have breakfast, and be off. late2cruisin Posted March 4, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Thank you, that is really helpful to see the disembarkation note. What about noise, does anyone know how noisy it gets? I am hoping that we can sleep until, say, 6.30, even though we dock at 5, then get ready, have breakfast, and be off. Shouldn't be a problem. We never get up at 5! Keep in mind that they want you to vacate the cabins by 8:00, and they really do stop serving breakfast in the buffet at 8:30. (I once got there at about 8:15 and I had to scramble to get some food before they closed down all the stations..)
Rare Milhouse Posted March 4, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 4, 2014 We were not awaken by dock noise in Civitavecchia but instead our alarm clock. And we were up just before 6am because we had a tight flight. Side note: We were awaken in Naples because they had some kind of mechanical gangway they had to maneuver in place for deck 5 that had sirens that went along with it. But in Civitavecchia, for our cruise we just jumped off from deck 3 right onto the port area so no complex gangway required.
