Jewel before the refurb?

Was looking into a Jewel of the Seas Southern Caribbean cruise, but was a little worried about the ship being run down or really outdated. Has anyone sailed recently and can comment on the ship?

She needs some refurb, but over all is in good shape. The refurbishments were delayed due to the Grandeur fire. Go before the Seaview café, etc. are removed. It is beautiful...okay the solarium ferns are aqua, but nothing is perfect!

I was on Jewel for the Feb. 8 cruise. The ship may be old, but I saw no signs that it badly needed a refurbishment. The rooms were in great shape, the service was excellent. Sorry to see the Seaview café will be removed. It was a pleasant alternative to the Windjammer for lunch. Flat screens in the staterooms will be a welcome addition.
