Update question for Koper Slovenia

Have gone quite a ways back on the boards and founds quite a few unanswered questions about best recommendations for this port.

 

Looking at doing the HoHo bus with Istranka from Koper to Piran

OR

the ships tour which does the Predjama Castle and the Postojna caves...;)

 

wondering now that many have returned what your thoughts are for recommendations?:rolleyes:

Looking for information on the HOHO bus a s well. The Istranka bus is about half the cost of the ship's cost for the HOHO bus tour. Has anyone had experience on either HOHO? Or other suggestions for this port? Thanks.

Rick Steves' Croatia & Slovenia book (p. 672) says there is a local bus from Koper to Piran:

"The easiest option is to ride a bus to Piran (1-3/hour, 45 minutes, 3.10Euro one-way). To reach this bus, exit the ship, turn left toward the port, walk about firve minutes, and watch for the bus stop."

Jazzbeau, thanks for the reply but I know that.

Was wondering if there were any opinions on which is the better tour to do since I've never been there!

BTW...we're on the same sailing!;)

We were in Koper in September 2012. We took the bus to Piran and

were happily surprised how beautiful and lovely this town is. The bus stop is at the small boat marina--walk along the marina to the town square, look at the shops--stop at a cafe for a drink--slovenia makes very good wines. Then wander around the town. Be sure to get back to Koper before the ship sails.
