roseaxel Posted March 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2014 It seems the slot machines on the smaller ships are not anything like you see in the land casinos. Most are old, not video and not enough penny slots. Just wondering if they've made any changes since we were on the Fascination last year. Anyone notice? LCTXcruiser Posted March 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2014 I was wondering the same thing about the Triumph. Have to admit, I love to play them!
tnvol8753 Posted March 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2014 I was just on but I that's the only casino I've been in. It was my first cruise. I would assume not. Some machines had the more digital like screens but not too many Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
kona_wahine Posted March 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2014 I hate those new machines. I would rather they keep the old ones. We went to a local Indian casino the other day and 99% are those new digital ones and are too complicated. If they go to the new style I won't be gambling. Sarah@Sea Posted March 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 11, 2014 We came home about $650 ahead our last cruise. :D Never, no where...I think I was up $40 on a cruise and I stopped and cashed out...good enough, I was just playing the cash we had left over. Vegas won $200 on Press Your Luck penny slot...loved that game. Went to Coach Outlet and shopped. Went back the next day to try again and lost $100+ I'd be happy if I could at least "play" a bit on $20-$40 but when I put it in and lose all with no little win at all. :(
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted March 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2014 My other half is in the Players Club, I have to give Carnival a lot of credit for how they treat their members. Last May on the Fascination my other half was treated very nice which included the casino manager coming up daily to him and had nice friendly chat, they give us a bottle of wine one evening for dinner, down to chocolate covered strawberries and pastries in the room other nights and some comp drinks for myself and my father in law. They know how to make members feel special and want to come back. We just got off the Fascination today and the same machines are on it, no new ones from our last cruise on her last May. roseaxel Posted March 14, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted March 14, 2014 I agree. They do treat their players well. We are by no means high rollers, but do spend a lot of time in the casino. We typically accrue around 5, 000 points each on a 4 day cruise. That said, here is what we usually get: strawberries at least once in the cabin; pastries or chocolates in the cabin; free drinks in the casino on day one; bottle of wine at dinner one night; sometimes a photo certificate; some cash to play in the casino($50-$100); host speaks to us daily; discounted cruise certificate at end of the cruise. Invitations to special cruises. Granted, the machines are tight and some very old, but we budget our "casino money", and consider it entertainment expense.
