Just back from the Grandeur... 2/28 - 3/5

Recommended Posts

Can you use it for the same place or does it have to be different places ?

And where do you find it for purchase online ?

The dining package is for Chops, Giovanni's, and Izumi - one meal at each.

OP, you mentioned a pool side BBQ, was this done at night? With music? I look forward to when Royal does the dancing under the stars party at night by the pool. although crowded, the music and food is always better IMO. Although i love Allure, i miss the fact that they don't do it on that ship or Oasis.

The pool side bbq was done at lunch time... no music...

Was there a theme to the pool party that people dressed for? How about the 60s/70s/80s? Did they do the Thriller Flash Mob? My daughter is a dancer and I'd guess she'd love to pack make up and a costume to be a part of this.

They did do lessons for the Thriller dance. It was performed near the end of the cruise. Didn't notice any themes or dressing up.

Looks like a beautiful ship, looking at either that ship or the Carnival Pride where we can get a balcony for two in 2015 out of Baltimore for 1300 with tax for two people, just wondering if any can compare the two ?

We've been on both. You probably are not going to pay anywhere near that $1300 for a balcony on the Grandeur, maybe $1300 pp.

We can do at least 2 cruises on the Pride for what we pay on GOS. I don't think the Grandeur warrants the difference. JMO

Having said that, we're booked on the GOS for next Oct. Sometimes you just need a change. We cruise every year, at least once. Most are on Carnival. Royal every few years.

We're booked on the Valor in November, we paid around 1900 for an aft balcony, gratuitys, insurance and transfer from the ship to the airport. I know the pride is going into drydock, what did you think of the interior of the ship compared to GS?

I have also sailed on both ships. They are probably more similar than different. I do find the decor more appealing on Grandeur (she is a very pretty ship). However, I didn't mind Pride's decor, it just isn't my taste. Both are similar in size and layout in my opinion. I think food and entertainment is similar as well. I suspect the itinerary's are similar as well. So, I'd go where you get the biggest bang for the buck! And if that happens to be Pride, then go for it! :D

The pride is supposed to be getting Guys burgers, a water park , ea sports bar, blue iguana cantina.

My husband and I LOVED "Guy's Burgers" and "Blue Iguana" on Glory last summer and would sail Pride (for the right price) just for that reason alone! ;)

When will the cruise lines come out with the rest of the schedules for Nov 2015? Carnival has a couple and Royal has for the GS is Canada/New England and to Kings Wharf. The one I had seen in RC is a 7 day cruise to Nassau, Coco Cay and an 8 day cruise to Key West, which we've always wanted to visit.

Yeah all they have is Canada NE, and to Kings Wharf.

I think they have Bahamas during summer and after the NE and Bermuda seasons are over. We are going on 8 night cruise for Thanksgiving in 2014.

We usually cruise April or Nov, DW says cause hurricane season is over.

Nothing wrong with that. I am not sure when the fall schedules will be released, but I would assume they will be similar itineraries that are being offered this fall...8 night Bahamas and 10 night eastern. Would be nice if they added something new, but who knows till we see the schedules.

Just outta curiosity do they have the Freestyle machine? The one year we took our Vacation to the Coca Cola museum in Atlanta and tried the machine there.
