don't-use-real-name Posted March 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Guests at NCL frequent Cruiser Party (aka Captain's Party - Sales Promotional Party for Future Cruises - Free drinks party etc.) My Question as this will be my second time on NCL and I understand that an invitation is given to attend one of these said parties. Will I be permitted to bring a guest with me or is it ONLY for those who are the actual frequent cruiser ? Carnival & Holland-America were most accommodating in this respect. garycarla Posted March 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Are you talking your "cabin mate", somebody you met onboard, or your family and their friends? (LOL)
don't-use-real-name Posted March 12, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted March 12, 2014 I will be a single in a Suite and I have a party of -4- couples all in balcony cabins. Three of couples have cruised NCL before. Not wanting to have the 4th couple left out I would like to invite them as my guests for that party. Maybe a Concierge could be of assistance in this but I thought to throw the question out to test the waters and maybe not make so many big waves. LOL! Since you are an invited guest and not the person throwing/hosting the party, it really isn't appropriate for you to "invite" others to attend. If NCL thought it would be OK, your invitation would have " and guest" after your name.
deladypilot Posted March 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Although no one would probably say anything if they came with you. This is an Invitation party for those that have sailed before. It is a perk given to those people. NCL usually provides snacks and liquor and I have to agree, it would not be right to invite others. Our next cruise we will be traveling with our 2 adult children who have not sailed before and 2 friends who have not sailed with NCL before. So my husband and I will be going alone if we go at all. Might just skip it this time as I will have already met the crew members at the Cruise Critic Meet & Greet

Ask the onboard cruise consultant to please send your friends an invitation . They tend to be very accommodating . J.M.H.O. That's like getting a wedding invitation that is addressed to Mr. don't-use-real-name and you calling the bride/groom and asking if you can bring two additional guests. As with any 'party' an invitation is sent to the person it is addressed to. If it says *and guest* that means you may bring one person. The room size for the party is determined on how many guests are invited and the food and/or drinks are planned for how many are invited. So, imho, my answer would be no, not if your invitation was for you only. I can only imagine if everyone traveling that was invited brought their 'friends, family, etc.' that weren't invited. It's crowded enough as it is! LOL *as a side note.....I hate when people compare NCL to other lines or other lines to NCL. If you want to 'do' like the other lines do.....pay their prices for the cruise and cruise with them.
