Mariner Cruise Credits

Does anyone know if you purchase the ship provided excursions prior to your cruise, will that money count towards the on board spending bonus(300 dollars spending),to get the credits for the Mariner star rewards program? Or should I just wait and take my chances that the excursions won't sell out. Just curious, thanks

Any purchases you make before hand, including excursions, indulgences, etc will count towards your Mariner Cruise Day Credits with the following exceptions.

14. ARE ANY ONBOARD CHARGES EXCLUDED FROM THE ONBOARD PURCHASES BONUS?

All casino charges, cash advances, Future Cruise deposits, and associated fees are excluded. All other onboard purchases, for example, Hotel Service Charge, Beverage Service Charge, taxes, shore excursions and all gift items purchased online or through Ship Services count towards bonus Cruise Day credits.

I just checked...we have 158 actual cruise days...not very many...but well over 200 because of on board spending...so this gives us 4 Star status. I love it because we get a discount on beverage packages, free laundry and pressing, priority boarding and disembarking, etc.

We are on a 7 day Alaskan cruise with a 12 day Denali landtour. DH and DBIL will book a flightseeing tour . Since this is after we leave the ship, will it be included in the onboard spending. We are also booked in a Neptune suite, so how will the credits be calculated?

Thanks,

Marilyn

Any HAL excursions you take on your land tour will count towards the Mariner Days. Because you booked a Neptune Suite, your 12 land days will count double.

Guests in Neptune Suites get double days IF they booked and paid for a cabin that qualifies. If you initially booked a cabin that would not qualify and then had a free or low cost upgrade or upsell, you would not get double days.

If you get the double days for nights on board you will also get double for your land tour.

We book specific cabins, since we don't want to be disappointed in the location. Many thanks for the info

Cruise day credits are double for the Neptune Suite.

Yes, one of the inequities in the program. If you and a friend book a Neptune Suite you each get double days ( and each pay 1/2 the total dollars for the cabin). If a single person books a Neptune Suite they pay the entire fare but still only get double days. Go figure.....
