Have to jump in and say that any decent meal of fish and chips must be wrapped in the News of the World. Oops! Forgot! No more News of the World...

 

No more wrapping in old newspapers, full stop.:(

The health-and-safety gestapo put an end to that decades ago.

Harmful chemicals in the ink. Even though we seem to have survived. :rolleyes:

Good point, JB. Was thinking of the good ol' days growing up in London when six penneth on the way home from school was very tasty...

(BTW, enjoy your knowledgeable posts...)...

Sorry, fish and chips has to be just that. No horrible sauces or gravies on it. Just plain old fish and chips.

 

Quite agree. Whoever thought of adding anything but salt to fish and chips should have quietly let the idea slip.:)
