Airport a Taxi

Have read a few posts on here regarding transport from the airport to the hotels and it is quite confusing. We are a family of 4 and wondering if the taxis would take all 4 of us with baggage or is it a 2 taxi run. Conflicting reports on here. Don't really want to split the family and I would rather just jump in a taxi and go straight to the hotel rather than sort out busses, trains, metro. We are staying at the Novotel Barcelona city. Thanks.

Four people with luggage is a bit more than a standard small taxi can take.

 

You have two options.

 

1.Wait for a van type taxi which takes 6 people or 4 people plus quite a bit of luggage. You could be lucky and get one quite quickly or you could have to wait some time.

 

2. Pre-book a private transfer of a vehicle which takes up go 7 people or 4 people with luggage.

 

The difference in cost is about €35 for a 6 person taxi against about €70 for a pre-booked private transfer.

Wait for a van type taxi...I doubt it would take that long at all as we saw some in the taxi line.

There are plenty of taxis that take 4 people. If the first to reach you only takes 2 people just ask them to call a larger one to the front of the queue. If you don´t speak any Spanish just tell the driver ´quatro personas´ and he will understand.

The airport train goes directly to El Clot station, just a couple of blocks from your hotel.
