Rare Waynetor Posted March 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2014 Came across a 2014 most popular ship listing based on reviews. The Insignia is listed as 3rd most popular Luxury ship following Azamara Quest and Queen Victoria. How can a ship that has not been in service for 2 years rank so high? The Regatta was 4th, the Nautica was 6th and Riviera 7th. The full list is at http://********************/cruise-reviews/

Rare ronrick1943 Posted March 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Don't know--even Marina is on the list. And under the Ultra Luxury they have SeaDreams - I've been on SeaDreams and it's really fun and good, but Ultra Luxury No it isn't. Rick
pacheco18 Posted March 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) These lists are meaningless Could be made up Who is the voting pool? What's the standard against which things are measured? How many ships must you have sailed on to vote? If I only sailed one ship it will be the best -- but I have no frame of reference How was voting controlled? Can cruise line employees vote? Can I vote multiple times? I could go on . . . You can rig a poll to have any result you want or do it so unscientifically that the result, as here, is nonsense Drivel IMO The best ship is the one YOU like most. wripro Posted March 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I love how they have now gone from luxury and deluxe to ultra luxury and luxury as categories. What's next mega luxury and ultra luxury? I agree with Pacheco18. These lists and magazine surveys mean nothing. If I like a cruise line its placement on a list will not affect my opinion. Likewise, if I don't like a cruise line a higher placement will also not change my mind.
