girlscruise2011 Posted March 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2014 I use cash only. Never use my Credit Card on islands. Not being able to access my account online, I don't want to come home to lots of fraudulent charges. I know the Credit Card company will reverse them but don't want the hassle. Caribbeanqueen03 Posted March 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Cash in small bills So agree. Small bills and if you plan on expensive gifts, larger bills in a secure location.
James in SA Posted March 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Cash in small bills AND look them over an make sure none are torn. In Roatan and I think Belize they will not accept torn bills as the banks won't take them. I always get change at guest services the night before at a convenient time when the lines are short. Rare mitsugirly Posted March 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2014 I always only bring small dollars and the correct change plus tipping. I have read too many horror stories about cc's being used and the numbers copied and used later with horrendous charges on them. I would never want to take that chance. :)

OCruisers Posted May 18, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Would it be best to take local currency or USD? Depends of where you're going. For cruises to places like the Caribbean it's the USD. LuLu

Just go to the purser's desk "Passenger Services". We do this quite frequently. Some people use the Casino to do this. LuLu
