Houston Bayport 2014-2015

The Emerald Princess will be the ship returning to Houston Bayport next winter. I have just received a message from Princess that the itinerary has changed due to "ship congestion" in Roatan. The ship will now call on Cozumel, Costa Maya and Belize in that order. Costa Maya has been substituted for Roatan. Also note the ship will be leaving Bayport on Sunday instead of Saturday like it is doing this year.

 

From the Princess notification:

Please be advised that due to ship congestion, Emerald Princess' call to Roatan on March 3, 2015, has been replaced with a call to Costa Maya

(Mahahual) from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM on the same day. The revised itinerary displays in full at the end of this notification.

How were you notified? I have a cruise out of Bayport scheduled for New Year's week and haven't received anything yet. Roatan is the only port I'm really looking forward to.

 

I must admit, I'm seriously considering switching over to the Ruby so we can leave out of Ft. Lauderdale. A few pre and post cruise sunny beach days in Miami are starting to sound good, and I don't think I'll find those in Houston ;)

Wow, I hope this does not happen for our 11/16/14 cruise. Roatan is one of the reasons we booked the Western Caribbean. Thanks for the info!

I received an email from Princess this morning shortly before I posted the message. Anyone on the winter 2014-2015 Emerald cruise had better check their itinerary.

Looks like it is only your specific cruise. The others are still scheduled for Roatan

That would be the final nail in the coffin for me. Roatan was the best port out of the 3 IMO. Add on top all the issues traveling out of Houston you might face, and I would be jumping ship for another cruise. What a shame

My cruise still shows Roatan. Really wouldn't make a difference either way for me, as long as we actually get to leave Houston for a 7 night cruise :D :p :eek:

We're booked for this cruise in February 2015 and haven't been notified yet. We enjoyed Roatan so hope our week has not been changed.

That is awesome!! I loved Costa Maya! We had the BEST tour with Hulagirl's family there and it will go down as one of our favorites. The beaches are so pristine and beautiful, the water is warm and turquoise blue and the people are friendly and down-to-earth. Great port and would love to go back there again. Roatan was okay, but not worth going back to again IMO.
