Thanks very much, Andreas. These are fantastic and just what I've been waiting for. I now have a great idea of what the Owner's Suite looks like. Still wish I could have scored a Deluxe Owner's Suite. Your pictures of the DOS are incredible too. We'll be on the starboard side though, so I assume the room will be a mirror image. I wish the pics were from deck 18 though. The balconies are larger on 17, but I'm not sure how much. Your pics from deck 17 show the OS balcony to be great size. I hope the deck 18 balcony isn't too much smaller.

Since the latest drama appears to be that the current/future status of smoking in the casino, does anyone know any good spots on board for a cigar? My last couple of cruises have been on the Epic, which has a Havana Cigar lounge, so I'm now seeking a new home :P

According to deck plans on ncl.com there is a Humidor like the other "Away" ships. Right net to Tobacco Road.

Thanks for the response. I have two little ones that will be 2 and 3.5 at the time of sailing. According to other posts, this still falls under the Guppies program. Therefore, I wanted to make sure it was per child or the cheaper route of per cabin. :)

The 3.5 year old will be in the regular club, (the 3-5 age group), not the guppies program.

Does anyone have any info &/or pictures of the Casino VIP Lounge? We have a group of ten going on the Dec. 5th sailing and all will do quite a bit of gambling and most are smokers/vapors.

Thank you so much for all the info you have shared and all the time you taken to extend your vacation to all of us.

 

That is great news about the casino being smoke free. I hope that rule holds.

 

So has anyone tried the snow room yet?

 

Are there any pics of the Haven's menu yet?

 

In the supper club are the booths in the back a good place to watch the show or are you better up front at a table? Just thinking about turning your head the whole time vs looking at the stage straight on.

Too many people hang out to pollute not play ....I approve of no smoking

 

DH and I agree with you. We'll be so happy if this is true, and not just for the preview cruises. We'd find a nice couple machines on getaway and then people would come smoke a pack (exaggerating a touch) and not even be playing. We would have spent more time in the casino if it wasn't so foggy. Now maybe we will be in there too much! :D

For those who are on now, and those coming up: how crowded is TDBH? Seems like it could be a madhouse for those who love their craft beers. Just wondering how easy it will be to swing by and grab a cold one on the way to the pool, dinner, etc.

 

 

I am amazed at the selection. Most beers I have looked up are some of the best available ... Ratebeer and beeradvocaate has most rated really high.

That is very strange. We were hoping (probably in vain) for an upsell into the Haven as we are on the same cruise. Looks like that won't be happening now. [emoji4]

sctexan, the Haven suites are back for the June 4th sailing! Not sure if they had a computer error or what. If you look at the chart of sailings by date and cabin category, it still shows as sold out, but if you select another category, then click on Haven after you are at the cabin detail, almost all categories of Haven suites are available with many rooms in each category.

 

Looks like there is still a chance for you to get an upgrade to the Haven!

Has NCL made any comment on the fact that the Escape Casino is non-smoking? Could it just be that they made it the policy for these early cruises to prevent a bad first impression?

 

Either way, I'm neutral on it, if not a little happy to hear it. They banned smoking in bars in my state (well, unless you literally build a separate smoking room) and everyone acted like it would single handedly ruin the nightlife industry. Once the law went into effect, bars reported no noticeable drop in revenue (and in some cases, saw improvements) and the world continued to turn.
