B2B Do you get a new seapass card

Recommended Posts

I've only done one B2B on Monarch of The Seas.

One the last night of the cruise my new seapass card was laying on my bed with a page of information. All the B2B cruisers met around 10:30am by guest relations and were walked off, went to customs and turned around and walked back on. No passport was necessary, as it was more a formality. Just be sure you have BOTH seapass card.

Were you able to get back in to your cabin, or did you have to stay in the public areas until they finished cleaning?

we did not try to get back in because we did not be in the way of our cabin attendant. We told him not to worry about our cabin...we were in no hurry. We got together with our friends and went to eat lunch in the Park Cafe and then to the Schooner for our beginning of our cruise, Part 2 drink.

Only reason to go to the new cabin is to make sure my belongings got to the new cabin! Rolleyes Elsie, Elsie? What's that all about?

Was told by C&A that I need to pack everything up!

Does anyone know how it is handled on Grandeur? I will need to change cabins. Will I be able to get into the second cabin before the usual 1 or 1:30 fire door opening?

Rhonda, my first suggestion to you when doing a b2b and having to change cabins, is to first let your current cabin attendant know that you are a consecutive cruiser, but you will be changing cabins for your second cruise.

Then, about the middle of your first cruise, find your cabin attendant for the second cruise, introduce yourself and make them aware of the cabin you will be changing to for the second part of your b2b. See if they can have your new cabin ready first so that you and your things can be moved in immediately.

You will have to pack up those items that are in drawers or not on hangers and place in your luggage. Clothing in the closet stays on hangers and will be moved for you by your cabin attendant.

Once the move is complete, you will still have access to your cabin even with the fire doors closed. There are heavy, but you can open them up.

Moving consecutive cruisers from one cabin to another is nothing new to the attendants.

Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

It is Elsie Eisle and the roll eyes was in relation to the cruise drink part 2.

We were in the same cabin but our friends went along with their things as they were moved.

OK, follow-up question for all you good folk with great knowledge.

We are doing B2B for the 1st time later this year - in fact B2B2B. We are on Rhapsody (same cabin for all 3 cruises) 29Aug (Seattle-Vancouver), 5Sep (Vancouver-Honolulu) & 16Sep (Honolulu-Sydney).

What are options on turnaround day eg in Honolulu? We want to get off the ship as early as possible and re-board as late as possible as it will be our only time in Honolulu. We have actually booked a ships tour for that day - it is designed for people disembarking that day and includes sightseeing & a ride to the airport - we plan to leave the tour before they head to the airport & make our own way back to the ship. The tour is timed for 8am.

Input please.

Sorry I can't help you with Honolulu but oh it sounds like a wonderful trip.

Normally, if you want to leave the ship on turnaround day, you can get your new SeaPass cards at Guest Relations in the morning and be off the ship with the disembarking passengers. They suggest being off by 8AM.

The ship leaves at 7PM, so I would double check with Guest Relations to see when you have to be back on board. Normally it's 30 minutes prior to sailing, but you will have a muster drill to attend. Yes, even though you are doing 3 consecutive cruises, you must attend each muster drill for each cruise.:D

I would also let Guest Relations know during your second cruise that you have booked the tour for those with late flights once you get to Honolulu and that you plan to leave the tour early and make your way back to the ship.

Our B2B on Monarch in Sept. 2012 was completely different.:D We had a letter of instructions delivered to our room the night before, met around 930 in one of the lounge areas and were escorted off the ship as a group. Had to fill out the health questionnaire & check in at which point we were handed our sea pass cards. Had to wait about 15 min before being escorted back on.

It was not as bad as our B2B in LA on Mariner but not as painless as the other ones!:D

Interesting, it seems to depend where you are.

I just returned from my first b2b with the Jewel of the Seas out of San Juan / Puerto Rico and we also had a meeting at the last day (which was a sea day) at 11am, where we got our new Seapass and Transitcards.

I didn't had to wait for a certain time for visiting San Juan, but just stepped of board when everybody else did and I had a fast-line at immigration. Showed them my transitcard/seapass and picture ID and off I was. By returning to the ship I cut the line again and was within 5 minutes back on board.

Mr Walker: It might be the same in Honolulu. You'll get your new Seapass at the last day or at guest relation, you join all the people who will do the same tour (in our case they had the earliest meetingpoint). You get out with your old seapass and when you get back in the evening you get in with your new seapass.

Just an FYI, but each port/ship handles consecutive cruisers differently. So what you experienced on Jewel in San Juan might not be your same experience on another ship in a different port.:)

your post makes no sense, I would suggest everyone ignore it.

What part of it makes no sense? So should I say your statement makes no sense?

RCL does the worst job of any cruise line on B2B cruise. All one has to do is look at just how many people do B2B cruises compared to other cruise lines. I have done many B2B cruises and as I said RCL has a great on-board product but they have the absolute worst back end there is. I just love those calls at 7 AM (pacific time zone and they are calling from eastern time zone) from RCL saying are you logged into your account and if so please log out so we can access your reservation. RCL doesn't even market B2B cruise while other cruise lines do. Other lines give you a discount for doing this.

Linking my cruises has caused my TA major problems as he has been locked out out of the reservation by the B2B desk. Not exactly sure what the B2B does but it appears they don't do much.

As for trying to get the same cabin when one books a Guarantee there is little to no effort made to put one in the same cabin. I have seen many cabins (same room numbers) that are available on a cruise yet I have ended up having to select a set of cabins for both cruise call my TA and get him to call RCL.

Yes there software is old and maybe the new software will sort this type of mess out.

I said it because none of those things has ever happened to us. We have been on 7 B2B cruises, all with the same stateroom, and 2 additional B2B2B cruises. The B2B2B we originally booked as B2B and the at the end of the cruise we we able to stay on for the next cruise, since weather turned bad at home, and we were able to get a cabin when people had to cancel.

We book our cruises onboard and they are very helpful is selecting the cabins we want.

After booking, we turn our res over to our TA.

We have been cruising RCI since 1997 and only do consecutive cruises and have yet to experience what you have described.

You will love doing B2B. The night before when everyone is putting out their luggage and look sad you have a happy feeling. You have another whole week to sail.

Listen to Patti's info. She knows what she is saying and will not steer you wrong. She was a great help with her good info before we did our first B2B.

The info given out to you on the ship is very clear and informative - on FOS we had a meeting where all explained. Due to customs regulations we all had to leave the ship, redo customs and get new sea pass cards - whole new folio. It's magic being one of only 50-60 folk on the shop for a few hrs!!

Well consider yourself lucky. The last 3 B2B cruises have all had problems. Why I have no idea.

I have never booked on=board so maybe that has something to do with it.

If the on-board product wasn't as good as it is I would have given up by now.

I have cruised 30+ years and thus have some idea of how things should work.
