Carnival liberty short review

I am actually still on the ship. Haha. It was clean and the crew tried the hardest they could...they just all seem so miserable I talked to the preformer and he looks so sad. Poor guy. The shows were just embarrassing and aweful! The food was just ate to survive! The food was really bad. Lol the places we went to were beautiful! I miss them very much! This was my 5th carnival cruise it will probably be my last. Every time I come back I always say I'm not doing carnival again! I will try something different and see what happens. All in all the cruise was a lot of fun! I am very sad to be leaving. The cabin we had 2417,2415, and especially 2417 had so much noise it was hard to sleep they did take 400 off our bill and a future cruise credit of 15% but that will not get us back on

Sorry your cruise was not up to your expectations. When you mentioned the food, could you be more specific? Where did you eat? How was the new menu? Etc

I'm going on my first Carnival cruise on the Liberty in July. This is the first negative review I have seen. If you have time when you get back, could you post some specifics about what you did and didn't like? Thanks!

It's not so much I didn't have a good time! Because I had a blast. I'm just saying I want to try something new. The food was really bad. It wasn't good at all just everything we are was mediocre! But I'm sure you will have a great time! I loved the trip itself

My family and I got off the Liberty one week ago today. It's hard to believe so much changed in 1 week!

 

We did not notice the crew to be any more tired/unhappy than any other cruise we have been on. We also did not notice a difference in the quality of food on this cruise compared with our cruises on the Freedom the last 2 years.

 

I guess it's what you make of it. If you were expecting to be let down, it sounds like you got exactly that. I can understand that if the cabins had a lot of noise it would be frustrating, but it sounds like you received compensation for that issue. We had a cabin deck 8 forward and it was great.

 

I would definitely recommend the Liberty to anyone.

Because we cruised on Splendor twice in different staterooms and both were by the employee stairs and under Lido and the noise was terrible. This was in May, 2013 and last month. You mean I can get $ back for that??? :confused:

I got 400 off our bill. Plus the 15 percent off future cruise. So they did what they could. But the noise was insane for us right under the kitchen all we heard was banging al night and they most likely know so they didn't give is a prob

Sounds like someone didn't do their research on this cabin:rolleyes::rolleyes:

There are plenty of websites, INCLUDING Carnival's website, that show you what is above and below your cabin.

That's what we are all here for. To help each other......

Next time, do the research before you book a particular cabin:D:D

I'm also surprised to read your review as we saild Liberty in December and the staff seemed to be very happy. As far as the main shows we didn't go yo but one and left durning it....not good. That's the only bad thing I can say about Liberty,

We just did the Liberty Mar 16th-23rd. Still in Fl on Vacay. :) DD and SIL, DH and myself. Had the best time because it had been almost a year since I had seen my DD. Had some mixed feelings. Food was OK. seemed to be boring, can't explain that because I love Carnival. I do hope they don't do the new menu fleet wide, I'd miss the soups. :) Our cabin steward was great, room only....zero personality but my DH got the impression he might be new. Our pin said Liberty but was dated 2013. Our platinum gift was Tervis Tumblers. We got those on our 2012 cruise. It was ok because we got them "jacked" by our DD and a friend. :) Got Hats 2013, I like to work out in them. I was looking forward to the cooler bags but oh well. Had a great cruise just felt a little off. DH wants me to explain it more but I just can't. OFF, that's it. Love Carnival and can't wait to go on the Miracle in Jan. Just my two cents. Keep Cruisin'.

I am actually going on the breeze in June! I like carnival I feel loyal to them. But I will like to try another cruise line again I really enjoyed royal Caribbean when I went

I just returned from the Liberty. I found the food to be delicious. The staff was amazing(Waiters and room stewards) I was on deck 6 right above the night club. The music was super loud every night up until about 2:30 a.m. I didn't complain because I was afraid that they would call me an old lady(I'm 43) and tell me that I should be partying and not in bed at midnight.

 

I have been on 18 cruises, and Brittany Boyd has been the worst cruise director ever. I didn't attend many of the activities that she hosted because she was so annoying and loud. She doesn't have a funny bone in her. There are so many good cruise directors at Carnival.

Yes I saw her once the whole cruise for 5 mins. And the ship was very boring apart from the casino where I won't 500 dollars! Ha ha

I was on the Legend in November - first time on that ship - 10th cruise with Carnival and we all loved it. As far as the ship goes, may be my favorite as a matter of fact. This may be due to the cabin - loved the extended balcony & it's location.

OP, just one more question. Who did you "complain to" to get those "perks"? Reason I am asking is as you can see in my sig we have been on a LOT of CCL cruises and have had some "issues" that we never complained about. And we have NEVER EVER in ANY cruise been given anything "extra." Even after 24 cruises :( So maybe if I complain about the noise on our 2 Splendor cruises we'll get SOMETHING. Maybe not $400 back or a FCC but maybe a free drink??? :eek:

We called the front desk and they came in several times and observed the noise in our cabins. The ship was also full so they couldn't offer to move us. Or we would of done that option. So I think that is why they gave us the credits. We also recieved 2 free drinks for each cabin. Next time we know not to book anywhere near a kitchen

Great that CCL came thru for you. I am NOT putting you down, but we have been on 24 CCL cruises (which I mentioned before!) and had some issues, which I mentioned before and never complained about which I mentioned before! :p And now I guess I should have...noise on our Splendor cruises was horrible...never would have thought to get compensation and a FCC for that. which I mentioned before...enjoy that $ in your pocket and sorry the noise was so LOUD. Yes. Did you tell them why you were on the cruise? Because most likely they would of moved you and that been the end. They told us that the cruise was fully booked so moving was not a option and they had no other option but to compensate! We are pretty easy and can handle everything. But we figured we paid 4000 for a vacation we should at least expect a quiet cabin! Besides the noise the cabin was very cozy. Haha
