bbrule7 Posted March 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2014 Has anyone had any experience with these two travel insurance companies Celebrity(Berkly Care) or Travelguard. Have always used Travelguard in the past, never had any claims, but they are quite costly. Trying to figure out the pros and cons of each. Any help would be appreciated. jelayne Posted March 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2014 Have never used Celebrity's insurance but have used Travel Guard many times. We have had one claim which was handled quickly and easily.
alcpa1 Posted March 30, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) While Celebrity/Berkley will not show up on insuremytrip.com, this website compares policies. Other Berkley policies may be offered, I just did not check. We have used a variety of Travelguard policies, and others in the past. You do have to compare policies and you may be looking at an apple vs. oranges situation. Travelguard has a number of different policies and might be a more comprehensive policy than the Celebrity offering. It truly depends on exactly what you want to cover. The Celebrity policy will not cover independently booked excursions, self booked flights, hotel stays not booked on your own dime etc. I'm sure you know since you have used Travelguard before, that you do have a period post booking to insure and cover pre-existing conditions. There is an insurance forum on Cruise Critic. Just scroll down the main page and you will find it. There will be better information there.
