Traveller20074 Posted April 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Will we see anything compared to the port side in Glacier Bay? IIRC, he turned the ship around so each side could see Margerie Glacier if they were on the balcony....I just don't remember how long he was on the starboard side. Also, going through the inside passage, I suppose each side gets to see different things.
CruiserBruce Posted April 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Glacier Bay is a big cul de sac. You will go in and turn around several times, and sail out the same way you came in. So, if you were locked in your cabin and forbidden to come out, what you missed sailing in, you will see sailing out.
Budget Queen Posted April 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2014 You will miss over half your potential views, if you only stay in your cabin. You also are going to miss the commentary matching up with what you are seeing. I can only remember one ship making more than one "spin" as mentioned above, and it wasn't recent. Also one trip I was on, the starboard side got NO view. This wasn't recent either. The starboard view is usually the shortest. You do know there are at least 3 other glaciers seen? Of course each side sees something different. Everyone is different. If you want starboard side then that is the choice for you. Doesn't matter what other people think. :)
