Colo Cruiser Posted April 3, 2014 #26 Share Posted April 3, 2014 I received the exact same email from Carnival Cruise line not Princess day before yesterday. Since others have also gotten the same email from Holland I am thinking that Carnival Corp is sending it out to all of it's brands maybe? That would make sense. wowsmom Posted April 3, 2014 #27 Share Posted April 3, 2014 It was a very long survey. First they wanted to know what I bought, on the ship, in port and after the cruise. Then it went on to ask why. Then it was from where. Then after all that, they started on what shops I would like to see on board....not sure my answer of Starbucks was what they had in mind! The list of shops was fairly high end - tiffany, louis vuitton, gucci, tori burch etc. Wonder if they are thinking about a shopping promenade type arrangement like on RCCL... I finally finished it but it took a loooooooooong time. Darn, I didn't think to say Starbucks is a brand I would like to see on board! That would be perfect, as I love my frappuccinos. I completed the survey as well, although I'm sure my answers weren't what they were looking for - we buy no souvenirs onboard, no jewelry, no perfume, no liquor, etc.
timetravler Posted April 3, 2014 #28 Share Posted April 3, 2014 I stopped doing the survey when the amount to spend gave me troubles. When I put down 0 on the casino, it didn't like that answer. When I tried to do the total amount spent, I couldn't input anything. That's when I quit. If a survey is complicated I don't want anything to do with it.:p
Colo Cruiser Posted April 3, 2014 #29 Share Posted April 3, 2014 I agree its way too personal.
#1Nanna Posted April 4, 2014 #30 Share Posted April 4, 2014 I also put Starbucks!!! : ) I did not respond to the income question - invasion of privacy!!!
clmom Posted April 4, 2014 #31 Share Posted April 4, 2014 Sounds like a fishing expedition to see what other port stores they can promote on board to get kick back from. I thought we were asked to fill out the survey because we are booked on the Sapphire in Asia this fall. I know they are revamping the ship's stores to attract Asians who like to spend $$ and shop. Our last cruise was on Celebrity so the survey wasn't specific to Princess. It was a long and very odd survey, all about shopping and spending $$. macusr Posted April 4, 2014 #32 Share Posted April 4, 2014 I spent about 15 min on it this morning, looked at the progress bar at only about 50%, and abandoned the survey.
Sailaway John Posted April 4, 2014 #33 Share Posted April 4, 2014 I did the survey. I am sure Princess wants to know what we bought offshore compared to on the ship. I feel that the on-ship sales are going down, down, down. Survey was a bit intrusive and too long.
jamespmc Posted April 4, 2014 #34 Share Posted April 4, 2014 I gave up on the survey also.
coo359a2 Posted April 4, 2014 #35 Share Posted April 4, 2014 I quit too at about 40% completed. Thought it somewhat personal and that it was to hard to get the numbers to add up the way they survey wanted them to.
Antonintassie Posted April 4, 2014 #36 Share Posted April 4, 2014 Hi We were first time cruisers ,suite ,Royal Princess ,Mediterranean late forties I thought the survey was to little to late as was the post cruise feedback form which was obviously never read. The cruise industry really does not seem to have a handle on where its client base has been or were it is going to come from in the future ,It is playing catchup with land based hotel and resort products as far a personalised guest services and preferences are concerned . I afraid that Princess lost us pretty quickly into our cruise and we are trying another cruise product Celebrity to see if there is any major difference and if we continue to look at cruising or go back to other land based travel options I was wondering if anyone else had filled out the Princess Survey from www8.intellisurvey.com?Way too long and too detailed in my opinion and couldn't get through it all without having to refresh a lot. I just stopped doing it because it became too long and frustrating to fill out.

The grey cruisers Posted April 4, 2014 #38 Share Posted April 4, 2014 Thats not a good sign for a survey! I agree and seems to just repeat and too detailed would like to be able to give more personal opinion and rating not so much on shopping and money Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare perfect match Posted April 4, 2014 #39 Share Posted April 4, 2014 DH got the survey and completed it with a little bit of encouragement from me. I am sure they will not be too excited by our answers since we did almost no shopping on our last cruise. We did use the "prefer not to answer" option on the questions like income that we felt were too intrusive. The rest of the survey went fairly quickly since we did not have much shopping to talk about. I was surprised that we got the survey since most of our cruises are on another line not under the Carnival umbrella, only one on Princess and that was a year ago. We are considering Princess again for 2015, that's why we did the survey.
dorisis Posted April 4, 2014 #40 Share Posted April 4, 2014 I did the whole thing. Me too but it was just a big waste of time.
ashhill Posted April 4, 2014 #41 Share Posted April 4, 2014
When I got to the page asking what we spent on various parts of a cruise that we took 6 months ago, I stopped. I agree, way too long and too personal.
I stopped at this page also. there is no need for this page so take it out. Princess has this info already.
