smeyer418 Posted April 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Can anyone recommend the best way to get from the QM2 dock to LaGuardia airport? If taxi, how much would that cost.....Thanks. use a local car service I use Arecibo 7187836465. It should be about #40. you call when you are past customs. they will be there in 10 minutes. The port cotracts with a car service for about twice that amount. If there are NY yellow cabs it should cost about the same depending on traffic. without traffic its 20 minutes with traffic its longer...

No toll bridges or toll highways from Brooklyn to LGA (or JFK). Your friends are probably confusing LGA with EWR.
Rare mking8288 Posted April 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2014 What is your flight time/date out of LGA? Airport is in Queens County (Borough) whereas QM2 is docking in the Borough (County) of Brooklyn, about 15 miles and travel time on a typical weekend is about 25 minutes with moderate traffic, assuming that there are no weekend constructions and/or lane closure - and there are NO tolls to/from airport. You will be docked at Pier #12, GPS address for Google Map/Nav is 72 Browne Street, Brooklyn, NY. Yellow taxi lines (metered fares) are said to be long sometimes when thousands of ship passengers are disembarking - the local car services recommended above would be preferred, just make sure to ask the dispatcher for their car's ID # and a mobile # where they can call you, as there would be mulitiple cars/drivers picking up passengers at the same time outside the pier. We generally used Carmel Car Service, one of the two major car service provideres often recommended here for NYC travelers - the other being Dial 7 - and I showed an online quote of $51 for a full-size sedan, which is more than adequate for 2 to 3 passengers with 3 pc. of luggages. Small personal bags or backpack can be kept inside the car if the trunk is nearly full. Carmel is our favorite & very dependable, an online coupon code will reduce the above fare by $3 - add 15% to 20% for driver's tip. LGA has 4 terminals so be sure to check & tell the driver which airline or terminal that you need to be dropped off at LGA. There are fewer flights into/out of LGA on Saturday and busier on Sunday, doing the Express Self Walkoff will save you time & lately, CBP seemed to be taking longer both for cruises and for air travelers at US airports arriving from overseas - it's always wise to allow extra travel time and to clear airport security, flight time after 1 PM or 2 PM would be good as long as you can disembark the ship and out in the terminal pickup area by 9:30 or 10 AM. The Main/Central Terminal B at LGA (United, AA & others) has a food court "land" side before security, food concession stands are limited beyond the checkpoint and there are NO free WiFi in case you are wondering. Delta & US Air have their own terminals apart.

smeyer418 Posted April 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 15, 2014 (edited) Thanks, friends from NJ scared us today saying we had to go over two toll bridges, etc!! Peace of mind. LOL only if they take you for a "ride". Its straight up the BQE. according to map quest its exactly 12.03 miles http://mapq.st/1qYtEQI no tolls at all. Traffic however is another issue. There is no reasonable alternative to these directions....except going through Manhattan(and two tolls..ie a "ride" longer too) Edited April 15, 2014 by smeyer418
smeyer418 Posted April 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 15, 2014 http://www.arecibocc.com/ Arecibo now has a working website. note that it says $33 from Park Slope to LGA(Park Slope is where the Mayor's home is and is just East of the Cruise Terminal-sort of). I use Arecibo they are ok. others may disagree.
