It is the same. you set up an account on board. So whether you use your own computer or the ship's computer you use the same log on.

you haven't mentioned a ship. not all ships have wifi. in the cabins...

This is true. Also, the ship's computers do not give access to USB or optical drive, so if you want to upload photos from a memory card, you must use your own device.

Agree. Tried Internet Cafe and my own Win 8.1 tablet on INDY recently and found my tablet to be much faster than the Cafe computers.

 

That said...other than the Oasis ships...Internet service onboard is pretty slow, especially for what they charge for the service.
