Cigar smoking

We're less than a week out from our cruise on the Paul Gauguin and in packing mode. I like to smoke a cigar and watch the sun set while on vacation so I picked up a few to take with me. Last year, I found a spot on the end of the dock in Staniel Cay to light one up and relax with a drink. Is there still a spot on the Gaguin that allows for a good cigar in the evening?

Yes, cigar smoking is allowed on La Palette (starboard side, outdoor area).

Info is right on PG's webpage under FAQs.

Thanks for that. I am very considerate of others when I smoke, which is why I asked. As much as I like to enjoy a cigar, I personally can't stand cigarettes, which are much more prevalent. I don't want my vices to impact another person's vacation.

Very considerate of you. Although I'm a non-smoker, I would rather be around "stinky" but relatively safe cigar smoke than cigarette smoke filled with carginogens. My son enjoys a cigar a few times a year--he drags a lawn chair out to the end of the driveway and smokes it there.

  • 5 weeks later...

Glad to hear that you consider fellow travelers. On our last cruise we had a bunch of French passengers who insisted on smoking cigars (not very good quality, either!) at all the La Palette tables. Polite requests were ignored so we had to rely on Elmo to enforce the "cigar zone".
