Why do you love Carnival?

This is an easy one for me. I think the main thing I love about carnival is that it is a classless society. (Not saying a society without class) I like that they don't have special areas for people in suites etc. People on the ship just seem to blend together. You could be sitting across the table from a plumber, a cashier in a grocery store and a doctor. It makes for an interesting cruise experience.

I find this statement is usually made by people that don't sail in suites.

I don't believe those that pay more for their cruise should get the same as those that sail on the inside Riviera cabins.

I'm hoping the new Vista class has areas for those that do pay more, or where the pay restaurants are included in their fare. And that can be a plumber, a cashier or a doctor that has also paid their premium fare.

I think I found the lady that was on the elevator when the doors opened on first floor said "Oh, I guess people do live in the dungeons" Makes a person feel good

I've been on several Carnival cruises and 1 RCCL. The fact is, I've never had a bad cruise, can't think of anything negative to say. The price is good and we go the same places that would cost me more on other lines. No problems with the food at all or the service. I realize it's all "opinions" and this is just mine. But for me, it sure works!

We have been on a lot of Carnival cruises and always had a great time but the time has come to try other lines again. Entertainment is just not what it used to be

Off on our first Princess cruise next week.

Stu, make sure you come back and post your thoughts on your Princess cruise. Enjoy!

While I can see your point, I would respectively disagree. We have sailed in almost every cabin other than inside that Carnival has including Ocean Suites, Spa Suites, Junior Suites, Grand Suites, Captains Suites and Owners Suites. That being said, I strongly feel that Carnival has it right and Royal (not picking on them) has it wrong. It should be a better room, not a cast system. By the way, having sailed on Oasis and seeing grand suites and owners suites on that ship, I think the room amenities on Carnival are much better as well.

Op, to your question, it's about the fun factor that sets Carnival apart from other cruiselines. It's what keeps us coming back.

I love carnival because it's fun--we like to chat with new people, eat and drink to our heart's content and carnival allows us to do that for a good price. We have to fly anywhere to cruise (we live in the upper Midwest) so Carnival allows us to cruise 1-2x/year.

We've cruised 4 times, and each time, great service. In the words of my fiancé, "why would we cruise another line? We know what to expect, and it's always great service for a great price."

With that said...we are cruising MSC in October and I'm quite apprehensive about it, however, we got a 7 day cruise for $650 for both of us for just an interior room. This allows us to cruise and get the drink package--both fit perfect into our honeymoon budget. Hopefully we'll like it! Otherwise, we'll just drink more. HA.

I appreciate concierge floors in hotels, and love the separate pool areas onlines like NCL. Anyone trying to find a chair around a pool that is overrun by people claiming they would prefer that over a pool area set aside for guests in suites are being disingenuous. Carnival created this environment by having such small pool, pool areas, and number of pools.

Their ships of yore were so much less crowded, on ships 1/2 to 2/3rds smaller. There's a whole market they can attract.

It's not out favorite cruise line, but we do love it for being cheap and convenient.

It's not Royal. It's pretty much ANY cruise line besides Carnival (and airlines and hotel chains). I strongly support a system where you get more when you pay more or have earned it with your loyalty.

There are times when I've been the guy with that bare bones inside cabin and there are times when I've been the guy with the perks-filled suite. And when I've paid a lot more for that suite, you can bet I was very happy to have the extra perks that came with it.

Do I get a little jealous when I see what passengers in suites get? Absolutely. But that doesn't mean that I believe that everybody should be treated the same for the sake of avoiding frowny faces from passengers traveling in standard cabins.

I know that the concept of a classless society sounds real pretty, but we are not talking politics or discussing the benefits of socialism. We are talking about a vacation where I'm very happy to get more when I pay more.

And anyway, Carnival isn't this "classless nirvana" that some people here envision. There are VIP lounges, special perks, restricted access areas reserved seating, and specialty restaurants available ONLY to those who are willing to pay more for those privileges.

I like CARNIVAL because I ALWAYS get a great, fun filled break from my normal life when I sail the Carnival ships, and all for a reasonable price. I know going aboard that I'm going to enjoy the entertainment, crew, and food. NO WORRIES MATE!

I like CCL because I can take the same cruise with the same itinerary for less.

I like it because their cabins are larger and more comfortable.

I like it because I don't have to go to a "pay extra" restaurant to get decent food.

I like it because I don't have to make a reservation to enjoy the entertainment.

I like it because I can get lots of OBC's using my carnival mastercard.

I like CCL because for our family there is always something for everyone to enjoy and no one is every bored.

Separate seating and swim areas are no problem to me. It's really all about enjoying a great vacation, spending time with the ones you love, meeting new people and discovering new places. That's what I like about cruising. Ok I might get a little jealous of that that person with the higher status receiving special perks but, they probably earned it (like we all did) and would that really ruin my vacation, nope. Right now I can afford an ocean view for my DW and myself because I researched prices took on some extra work at my job and saved. One day I would like to book a suite and because Carnival is so affordable I know I can, so bring on the perks because I've earned it.

When I am deciding on a cruise I look for price, itinerary, and it has to sail from NYC or NJ. Most of the time Carnival meets all this so that is why I like Carnival. And I have also sailed on Princess and Celebrity. I will sail on whatever meets my needs.

I haven't been cruising that long just since the 90s and just on Carnival but one thing I never understood (and still don't) is why there isn't greater rewards for those that spend the most money regardless of how.I throw the loyalty perks right out the window because we all know they can change the rules midway through the game.

I don't think its fair that I pay double for my balcony on the Lido that the inside Riviera deck cruisers do and get the same benefits. I mean I know its everyones choice and I have cruised in almost all class cabins except suites but they don't recognize the cruisers that make cruising affordable for the rest by picking their cabin ,drinking ,gambling ,buying pictures/excursions and spending 4 or 5 times what some people spend. One cruise I lost over $15k gambling and the next cruise they gave me $75 in casino cash LOL. What I was playing a hand in blackjack when the casino was open FOR A WEEK!!! was half of a cruise for one person and my recognition was $75 and not even the free cruise offer. I guess I will never understand it the philosophy behind it :)

I like the atmosphere, the ships and it is a familiar environment for me now after years of cruising with them. I know what to expect, I like the itineraries and the price is good for what you get.

Are you kidding me? Who the Hell do you think you are? You gonna have them lock the gates so us dirty commoners can't soil your luxury cruise. Go to another line. I don't want to see you, as YOU would ruin MY cruise experience.

I have seen plenty of offensive things on here but you take the cake.

Carnival has a good price and a good mix of fun and tradition from what I have seen so far. I did cruise with them in Europe so my view may be different.

All this 'I have paid more for my room so I should get exclusive areas' is rubbish. Its no-ones fault you got ripped off ( or felt like it) for your room/holiday, you had the choice of cabins to start with. I don't give one what other cruisers around me have/are doing/don't have. I am on holiday and I am enjoying whats there...

If you want that class feeling then sail with Cunard or an exclusive and small ship like Crystal if you can afford it.

As a Brit I find all this talk about class and wealth division boring..we live in modern times now.
