SuzieQ64 Posted April 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2014 Hi We are sailing on the Dream in June and still have not booked an excursion in Jamaica. Any suggestions?
CruiserBruce Posted April 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) As we don't know anything about your interests, budget or other limitations, it is very hard to make any recommendations. I would suggest some research on what the cruise line offers, (but you don't have to use what they offer), and some research on the Jamaica board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=111 to help narrow down this very broad question. You may also want to join your roll call, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=548 to see what others on your cruise are doing. Just a FYI, but there are at least three ships with "Dream" in their name. And not everyone can see your signature and see your past cruises. So being more specific about the name of your ship would help us help you better and faster. Edited April 21, 2014 by CruiserBruce
SuzieQ64 Posted April 21, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 21, 2014 Hi, Thanks for the info. I'm new to cruise critic so still getting used to it. We are sailing on the Carnival Dream out of N.O. We have been to Jamaica on a previous cruise and did the Sunset Beach Resort day pass. We were just looking for other options this time. I'm still researching. Thanks again! Bonnie J. Posted April 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2014 Dunn's River Falls!!!! take a throw away under water camera for great pictures, It is close to Ocho Rios and we joined people getting on a bus in the parking lot for the tour. think it cost like $16@. you can find this by going to Dunn's River Falls or just Google it. We just got off RCCL in Falmouth, Jamaica and out table mates when there - almost an hour ride to get there. they all loved it!

DreamCruiser1965 Posted April 22, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 22, 2014 HiWe are sailing on the Dream in June and still have not booked an excursion in Jamaica. Any suggestions? We went with Phil Lafayette Tours, a local gem of Jamaica. He was GREAT! He educated us about Jamaica and took us to the wonderful Blue Hole Falls, where we met our guide Ricardo (one of the very best) and saw and swam in the Falls and Ricardo took tons of pics. After that, Phil took us to where we could go tubing down the White River! Scenic and totally nice with our great guide Vivian, he was wonderful! After that we went to the beach and enjoyed some of the local jerk chicken at Bamboo Blu. Highly recommend Phil Layfayette Tours. Phil was a great tour guide, took us to totally cool places, and we felt very safe with him. His info is: Email: philip.lafayette@gmail.com Website: www.Jamaicaphil.com He got us back to the cruise ship in plenty of time too even though the tour lasted most of the day. Perfect day tour! Great reviews on Tour Advisor too. :)

SuzieQ64 Posted May 5, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Thanks for all the suggestions. I think we have decided to go to the all inclusive Sunset Beach Resort. We have been there once before and we enjoyed it.
mrsfuzzmo Posted May 6, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 6, 2014 Is there a ships excursion to Negril? Details? Probably not from Falmouth. It's a pretty long drive from Falmouth to Negril (through MoBay, which can have some traffic issues). There are a couple from MoBay if you dock there, usually.
