FOTS Deck 9 vs. Deck 10

Recommended Posts

Hi, we are taking our first RC cruise next year after 4 cruises with Disney. We are booked in a D1 balcony cabin on Deck 9 (9318), a few doors down from the "hump". I like the location close to the elevators, and midship.

We were originally booked on Deck 10 but DW got worried it would be noisy since it is directly below the kids splash zone thing. Is that a concern? If not I'd rather be on the higher deck.

Also is there any way to tell if that cabin has the couch or the bed next to the balcony? I think D1s can be either way, or am I wrong about that? Thanks for any advice.

Your husband is correct. The deck 10 cabins can be noisy from being under the pool deck. If you look at the deck plans on RCI's web site, there are explanations of what the various symbols indicate as far as cabin description, including bed configuration.
We have done the "Deck 10" thing, by mistake, once. Won't do it again, either! The nosies from above stopped about 2:30 AM and started up again just after 4 AM. You made a good move.:)
Wow, sounds like it. We'll stay on Deck 9

I can be wrong, but my guess is that most (all) of the D1 cabins have the bed closest to the balcony on Freedom and Voyager class. It's the other way round on Vision class (at least Vision of the Seas) if I remember correctly.

I think you're right, I found a review with pictures of that specific cabin. The bed is definitely by the balcony.
