Casino Question

When we were on Oasis in the Caribbean last year we took Dollars down to the Casino an exchange it for chips. My son is on Serenade in July in Europe should he take Dollars with him or can he use OBC. It's been a few years since we cruised the Med so can't remember.

I think if he uses OBC it would be the same as obtaining cash on one's Set Sail pass and would be subject to the 5% fee.

Depends on your exchange rate. The casino uses dollars. You cannot directly use OBC in the casino. However, you can get dollars against your SeaPass card (thereby using OBC), and if you do this, it will cost 5%.

If he has OBC, all he has to do is use his sea pass card. The money spent there will go onto his account, thereby using up his OBC. If this is not correct, please someone tell me as I am boarding in few weeks and hope to use my OBC in the casino by sticking my sea pass into the machine!!! (after thinking about this, I think I am confusing this with Princess....please keep me straight.....will there be a surcharge???)

Machines only take cash, the only thing accomplished by inserting your sea pass is collecting casino points.

As others have said you can get cash from your sea pass for a 5% fee.
