las313 Posted April 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2014 I just found a hotel deal in Seattle. Through groupon, I booked Best Western Evergreen Inn at $75 a night. We will be there 3 nights starting on tuesday, June24th. We will have a car so we can get around. They will keep the car during the cruise for $8 a day. Then we would need the super shuttle to the pier. $12 a person each way. Parking across from the pier is $200 for the cruise time. Not sure what we will do about this. They do shuttle to the airport and you could get a shuttle from there to the port. Louise
Glaciers Posted April 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Looks like a wonderful rate although if this is the Best Western in Federal Way you are 30-45 minutes from downtown Seattle, if that’s where you will be spending your 3 days pre-cruise. Also need to consider parking and the lack of convenience of not staying closer to the downtown area. If you are considering driving south towards Mt Rainier you’re in a perfect location. las313 Posted April 22, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Probably won't go into Seattle until the cruise. We have been there several times. Thinking of going out to Port Orchard and tour there. Louise
mapleleaves Posted April 23, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2014 I assume you have family/friends in Port Orchard. Not really a place to tour for 2 days. I highly recommend a visit to Mt St Helens. Or drive to the ocean.
las313 Posted April 23, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted April 23, 2014 We have been RVer's for the past 17 years and have toured the west coast several times. Thought Port Orchard and Bremerton might be something different. Have done Mt St Helena twice. Not sure what we will do. Louise
mapleleaves Posted April 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2014 how about a loop .... drive north to the Anacortes area, cross Deception Pass, drive the length of Whidbey Island (visit Fort Casey) then a short ferry to Edmonds. Or for a day excursion, try a whale watching trip out of Anacortes. We saw several orcas, 2 minke whales, seals, bald eagles. plus the ride takes you thru lovely scenery in the San Juan Islands, past ferries, sailboats, lovely waterfront homes.
